Wonderfully impressive movie. Jim Carrey was brilliant as Andy Kaufman. When it comes to put Carrey's best films (in acting department) my vote authomatically goes to Man On The Moon and The Truman Show. He deserved the Oscar or at least being nominated for this award. Courtney Love was great too - very underrated as an actress.

jim carrey is a great comedian, but he does not look at all like andy kaufman. carrey is way exaggerated. kaufman was much more subtle.

@indgiu Nobody has ever accused Jim of being subtle. Hes made his mark by overacting through every film hes been in. It usually serves him very well but yeah, in this film he could have used some more of kaufmans understated approach.

The time it takes him to start the Mighty Mouse record after walking on stage (almost a minute) is really exaggerated in the film. The real Andy is here ------> under Suggestions doing the real Mighty Mouse routine. The pause really lasts only a few seconds.

I like how Jim does Kaufman. It's a bit different and maybe over-acted. Considering how great Kaufman was, It would be hard for anyone to do him to perfevtion and I thimk Carry DOES him justice. I like where he uses the mistake between his two main actions. It made a bit more sense than Kaufman's. Not taking anything away from Kaufman at all.

Carrey gets the character and makes it his own which I beieve is how it should be. Complete imitation is not as good as making a character your own.
