@sk8jak Bass is a kind of an electric guitar (it's also something called acoustic bass too) with 4 strings (some basses have 5 or 6, and even up to 12, but 12-string bass is very expensive and rare...), the strings are tuned GDAE high to low on a 4-string bass guitar, the string got very deep sound. Bass is a rhythm instrument together with rhythm guitar and drums. Paul was the bassist in The Beatles. He's is playing with the same bass as he did back in The Beatles.

My girlfriend and I had seats almost directly behind the stage. The first band was booed off. Then, a stagehand removed the covering of the face of the base drum, revealing: "THE BEATLES". What happened next, you can imagine. It was a lifetime memory, but there was no way in hell you could hear them. (Ringo was the best!)
