And it isn't the Oscars, it's Ed Sullivan's "King & Queen" of the movies award. A publicity gimmick, more or less, though Gable's "King" label stuck for ever after. Tyrone Power and Jeannette MacDonald won the next year, iirc. Mickey Rooney and Bette Davis (?) grabbed it a year later.
