  • Buen dia

  • easy paul mccartny.

  • It's another beautiful crisp summer day in TX. :)

  • Ahh ok, to anybody else who was wondering, he was the Beatles' producer, I should have known this. The infamous '5th Beatle'

  • No idea who George Martin is, but I'm pretty sure George Harrison didn't play piano much, so I'd say it was Paul McCartney.

  • Wow Thank you that was a great find here on Youtube. Truly Great memories for you

  • Beautiful video! Is your ex-husband Howard Kaylan?

  • Great song. I was in Vietnam during Woodstock, killing Vietnamese for DOW and other members of the MIC.

  • ...I can't listen to this song without thinking about Fozzie Bear.

  • Hello Hazel...George Martin played piano on GDS. You mentioned that the photo @ 1:23 is of you and your ex. Are you currently married? Why do I ask? I'm 59 years young, still maintain progressive positive values, still eating whole foods, still free, and it occurs to me that we could have some interesting conversation, at least.

  • What a great way to start the day!

  • i am in wooodstock where i have been since a child; the sun is shing and i heard this song in my mind and your video came up, tahnks fot this gift!!!!

  • p.s.: okay, they were all pictures and you just gathered them all up...cool job!

May you walk in sunshine (my quote)

  • How pretty you are, Hazel! (pretty and smiling!) (~_*)

too bad about your relationship (ex)...But you have a lovely memoire here! (who shot the video, a friend of yours?)

May you walk in sunshine (my quote)

Melody Fox (aka the Princess of Rock)

    Love Peace Music

  • So nice :) That's some good vibes

  • Random note but the Hippies might have been against the Vietnam War yet did nothing about it... And George Martin

  • @MrSoadrocks They told to the ones who were listening to them : Make Love, Not war. They made a lot of manifestations but they coudn't do anything else except to prevent people from doing it. That's something, especially back in the 60's. At least they tried, and that's awesome :)

  • The Beatles weren't at Woodstock.

  • @beatleguy64 Nobody said they were :P

  • I want to live in the 60's.

  • Cool video Hazel. Wish I could have been there with you.

  • I KNOW THIS SONG! I didn't know it was by The Beatles!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • George martin?

  • Too bad woodstock wasnt very sunny

  • Great Video.Nostalgic.

    Another Era- Another Time.

    Australia Had Sunbury.

  • @TheJashinTV the beatles made me hippie last year on the 8th grade too

  • @vmanbeatles and we had this assignment to decorate this folder thing and there were peace signs and flowers ALL OVER IT

  • There is a definite Beach Boys influence in this song.

  • @CainmosniMirrored The shoe is on the other foot.

  • @CainmosniMirrored na, the beatles influenced the Beach Boys. it dont matter they both influenced eachother. theyre both good

  • You'll get no argument from me.

I add my good wishes for Sir George to yours.

  • The balance of Albee's insights - Part two of two

I'm guessing that McCartney laid down the first piano as a guide track with Ringo & overdubbed the bass & vocal the next day. Then George Martin must have added his part when the other Beatles did their singing & handclaps.

    Cheers!

  • @CKDStrider what a great life George Martin has had, huh??

Just laying down tracks with The Beatles in a casual moment!!

To go from the obscurity of the engineering room to being part of one of the greatest artistic collaborations of all time.

All good wishes to Sir George.

  • @Lifeislikeabeanstalk An absolutely amazing life. Yes, all good wishes to Sir George! Raise your glass...

  • And this from my friend Albee - I'll have to post this in two parts --

sounds like 2 pianos on opposite sides of the mix. When it starts with the bass it sounds like someone pounding on the lower keys chording with the left hand. The bass mostly covers it up. There's no guitars at all on this from what I'm hearing on the headphones. The piano that takes the solo is mixed way up front with the vocals. The other is more like a rythmn guitar. cont'd -

  • As regards to the piano, this information comes from my friend Kevin -

"According to Wikipedia George Martin played the solo and Paul played bass and piano during the rest of the track."

  • George Marten played the piano I do belive. Good song. One of my many favs by them.

  • I Love You!

  • siempre me va a gustar THE BEATLES

  • I just woke up and this song came to my mind!

  • paul mccartney sings and plays piano in the song

  • My dad lived in upstate NY close to where the Woodstock music festival was held, but he didn't attend (he was NOT a hippie), and told me that what he remembers was all the traffic problems it caused. My mom, on the other hand, wanted to go but was unable to convince my grandparents to let her since she was too young :P congrats on going to Woodstock! :D

  • i love these pictures!! i would have loved to have actually been there and see all of this.

  • Mika should do this one :) I love this Beatles song, and I can see him doing it well!

  • If somehow I ever found and took REAL LSD I'd totally listen to this!

  • Nice song. Good Day Sunshine! My friend woke up this morning singing this song and played it for her and she cheered. good day sunshine

  • Paul played the rhythym on piano while george martin plays the solo on the piano

  • Ah the sixties and the seventeens, how I wish I was born then, but my parents decided that I should be 16 in 2010 instead of 16 in 1960 :(

  • Rip John Lennon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wats with the naked dudes O_o

  • awesome, my favourite song

  • Great pics. I turned 21 that summer (Aug14) and decided not to go to Woodstock so I could go to the Bars for my birthday. Big mistake !!!!!1 Thanks for the walk donw memory lane !!! And I think it was George Martin on piano !!!!!

  • ~Thank You Dear Sister For This~I Sincerely Hope That You And Everyone That Reads This Will Join Us At Yasgurs Farm In Bethel NY To Celebrate The Woodstock Anniversary Every August!~Welcome Home~;-)))

  • Paul's best song ever. He tricks you with that start. Did you know that unless you stay in your house all day with no electricity that it is almost immpossible not to have some sort of Beatle contact everyday in your daily life.

  • wish i was there...

    wow, fabulous couple !

  • LOVE!

  • this song makes me wanna twirl a cane

  • George Martin played the honky-tonk piano part, as confirmed by preeminent Beatles studio sessions scholar Mark Lewisohn.

  • we sing that song in the school :D

  • j'ai vu des image qui sont le livre de barry miles qui s'intitule hippies qui très intèressent j'ai lu la version française de ce livre

  • Sweet Hazel, did anybody tell you lately that you are a lovely woman?

    Well I just did!

Thx for the back in time trip!

    Blessings

  • how do I agive this honors!

  • George Martin played the piano, I read that on wikipedia

  • This brings back memories of my childhood, we were all such a bunch of little hippies back then!

  • You're a lucky woman to have gone to woodstock '69 hazel, im only 19 and i would give anything to go back in time and be there :)

  • @SodomistCowboy I'm only [insert age] and would love to get respect from my elders.

  • @SodomistCowboy It was extensively recorded. And why live in the past? You have plenty of time to have your own experiences.

  • u are so lucky!

I wish I was born earlier to enjoy woodstock xD

  • I was invited to go to Woodstock, only problem was that had I gone, I would not have remembered it since I was an embryo at the time, lol Actually it was my Mom who was invited. I disagree with a majority of the things that went on in the anti war movement era, but I respect people for standing up for their beliefs... I kind of disrespect the make love not war thing, because it attempted to oversimplify a complex issue and it was immoral as well. If we want peace, it begins at home

  • @apologeticsman I disagree... why does it have to be complex? For me it's simple but some people make it seem hard, when really it's not...

  • Love this song x)

  • im sorry but that second picture scared the living fuck out of me....jesus christ thought it was a screamer

  • TUNE

  • Wish I could have been there, but I was to busy in DaNang with the 307th CSS ( Combat Supply Squadron) USAF. I still Love the Music.

  • Awesome video with one of my fave songs ever!

  • You can definitely hear the difference between Lennon and McCartney on this album.

  • My step father used to set up equipment for EMI, and at Abby road, .. RIP Derik.. George Martin produced them, John RIP and Paul both play piano but George was playing on that song.

  • Where can I find the first painting?

  • Is that chick at 0:57 topless?

That chick at 1:45 is hot

That chick at 0:16 in the yellow is fucking sexy!

The one at 0:19 is so damn hot

  • You look stoned! :) Beautiful, thanks for sharing it.

  • It fades at 1:23. Hazel, which one? Are you the 1 on the grass kissing, or the 1 smiling next to that bearded dude?

  • 0:27 hahahahaha

  • George Martin has a prominent harpsichord bit in IN MY LIFE

  • Paul played piano but George played the solo.

  • Were the Beetles@ Woodstock '69? I have to ask because '69 was a little before my time. lol

  • @Apsu72 George Harrison was. He stayed for a little bit and left, disgusted.

  • @Apsu72 --- Nope unfortunately the Beatles never made it to Woodstock 1969,, I was 15 then and my parents wouldn't let me go,,but I followed all the news repoerts,, IF the Beatles did show up,, I'm sure the crowd would have been twice what it was

  • this is one of my favorite songs from the beatles!(:

  • 0:26 omg

  • fuck you hazel laugh about fail 2010 in a special way

  • something i can laugh about... here we are thinking the aZTEC MAYAN CALENDAR RUNS US OUT. The day after all the worry, the pratical wlrus furr rubs so working sons hind, be. for an every important date.

  • Nearluvr08.... Why so snide? Lennon was approached about playing at Woodstock, although he was interested, the rest of The Beatles weren't. Unless of course you meant that BECAUSE she went to Woodstock... she should know who the Beatles are, even though they didn't play? Although, clearly she does. George Martin was their producer, a huge part of their sound, and an active participant IN that sound; so the likelihood of him playing on a recording is high. Also, every single Beatle played piano.

  • i'm surprised that you went to woodstock and you still didn't know that it's John Lennon who plays the piano and that it's George HARRISON, not martin....

  • George Martin was the producer of The Beatles and sometimes played some instruments...so who knows.

  • awesome! oh and john played it:)

  • awesome !

  • I don't think she was implying they weresomeone who was there certainly would know! But it certainly is in keeping with the Beatles' spirit in their later years. And George Martin actually did play the piano solo. :)

  • Whoops, I forgot to finish! Paul played piano on this track as well, so everyone is right.

  • @monsterq6

seems like you assumed that hazel10987 state that beatles played on woodstock. he actually said that some of the pictures were from his woodstock times. he never stated that beatles played STRIKE 1

by the way you said "were" and actually george harrison was in woodstock he didn't played but he assisted as he has state on several interviews he was there and he didn't like it a lot since he was thinking on de-intoxicating himself from his LSD years.

    STRIKE 2!!!!

  • A: I have a suspicion that it was George Martin.

  • O, how they Love to worship the SUN. Scumbag oculltist! I do love this song tho, well did.

  • they were either happy or high ethier way there the best song

  • woodstock in the early years was such a beautiful thing! just looking at these pictures brought a smile to my face. and could there be a better song to describe the feeling of inner peace that i feel when watching the video?

Good Day Sunshine to you all!

    love peace and hippie grease

    rainbow rock-z : ]

  • I heard this song at my english hour...:-x i liked it very much !:-x

  • did you really feel the need to tell us that... no offense but nobody cares. p.s. sing it right its a disgrace to the beatles

  • i don't know why you're getting thumbs down, i think that's a hilarious story. did your teacher ever explain her reasoning for her changes? lol that must've been an interesting conversation.

  • @KyoSohmaFTW Rofl, On that bombshell hahaha i really didnt see that coming

  • i like the verse a great deal more than the chorus. in my opinion, the chorus ruins the flow of the song a bit.

  • The hippies definitely f'ed it up for all of us. They went around doing drugs, acting like freaks, and running around in the streets like fools. This gave drugs, like marijuana, a negative connotation.

This was the perfect ammunition for conservatives to use to pass all the drug laws that support the meaningless 'drug war' we are still fighting today.

Now the 'hippies' are running our government and selling us all out.

I'm glad The Beatles didn't perform at Woodstock.

  • They rebelled against the 50s = conservative & rigid. It wouldn't have mattered what they did conservatives would not like it. Things changed a lot because of those times-things loosened up a lot in society. If they didn't rebel unmarried pregnant women out of wedlock would still hide in shame; civil rights, we would not have a black president if it wasn't for 60s. Whether folks like it or not this time really changed in our society.

  • The 60s changed the entire world! Accept the '60s' only happened in the US.

    Things change because of time.

  • It used to be that the black folks smoked marijuana-so the bad connotation came from that-then the hippies started in on it...there were some pretty well educated people toking back then...people rebelled because they had to...they went to an extreme because society was extremely puritanical and fuddy duddy...and it did change our society. This happened in Britain somewhat too I think.

  • I'm sorry but I must take um bridge with your assertion that public became to negatively view marijuana because "black folks smoked it". According to one documentary film "Grass"(1999) The public viewed marijuana negatively because it was popular among the mexicans who smoked it and that it played to the negative stereotype as mexicans being lazy (with their siestas and all).

  • In the past I read it about the blacks giving a bad connotation of marijuana and that could have been from the 30s 40s but whether it's blacks or Mexicans it was racism and it is a shame how stupid people are, It has always amazed me that they are so against marijuana and yet we have alcohol everywhere which kills people when it's abused.

  • eww this reminds me of shaker

  • with my ex-husband) , whoa, hold up, the event of a lifetime, a special time with a special person, etc. and you divorce the dude, or he, you, i wasn't there, thanks so much for the song and the pictures, i always loved this song, you gave me my chance to be at to woodstock, albeit today, 2008

  • DUDE! you guys don't even relize what this song is about. Yet your trashing it. Come on man, be real.

  • 1:23

  • you are beautiful; thanks for sharing this!

  • If you, honestly, believe that it was the "hippies" that started America down "the path of socialism", then you really must open your eyes wider. It's such a shame you're sitting at a computer putting blame onto people, when you could be trying to help people. You are simply the epitome of someone who makes ME sick; a close-minded person.

  • haha amen !

  • ill bet you're conservative

    to nlandry2

  • Oh yeah...it's the hippies, it certainly can't be corporate leaders that are in collusion with the government.

  • Thanks DieHardBeatlesFan for this groovy share!

    Peace,Love,and Sunshine Always! :)))

    Thanks for posting! hazel10987 !

  • just wanted to chime in and let you know that I was a little kid of 13 when Woodstock was happening. I wished I could have been there with ya! You were so cool!!!

  • Extremely cool video.

I remember seeing an ad for Woodstock in the Arkansas Gazette back then. It described what the event will be and ticket prices. I was 13 so I didn't haul off to New York. Dang - what a historically COOL event!

    Steve

  • i feel bad because i wasnt born these days
