While I attended RU, I had seen and even spoke to this man every year. My last encounter with him was on May 6th 2007, about a year before he died, he was 110. I would see him every year at the Alumni Memorial Service, where every year without fail, he would stand for the singing of the Alma Mater, even though standing was something he couldn't regularly do. I was in the Glee Club and it gave me so much pride to watch him stand to his feet as I sang the Alma Mater. It always made me teary eyed.
I am a die hard wvu fan , just watching some old wvu rutgers videos... getting ready for the game tomorrow.... but I have to say this is a pretty cool video. Sorry she passed.
9/15/08: Rutgers University has lost one of its most loyal alumni, as Walter H. Seward RC'17 passed away on Sunday at Saint Barnabas Hospital in West Orange. A longtime member of the Rutgers Alumni Association, Seward was a recipient of Rutgers Alumni Association's Loyal Son of Rutgers award and the Meritorious Service award. Seward also served as an RAA class president and class correspondent.
kind of puts across the point that rutgers is a little different than any well-known football power. I guess the U. of Va. might be a fair comparison, but Rutgers was basically an Ivy League school before becoming a land-grant institution.
what game was this before
