  • superb what else can you say

  • Funny how when Tammy sings it loses all enotionsl impact. Looks pretty though.

  • The hell with George Jones, maybe Tammy should have spent all those years harmonizing with Haggard! This was fantastic!

  • @mthivier YOU,RE SO RIGHT ABOUT THAT. This video is from London, Wembley 1988, when Tammy came on stage (SURPRISE) when MERLE was singing OKIE FROM MUSKOGEE..absolutely great performance.

  • @mthivier Yes, who knows? Never liked Tammy , always admired the Hag. Here also is a moment when she shouts, but she soon corrects that. The Hag and Tammy sound good, together.

  • This is so, so beautiful. Merle is a great singer. Tammy could harmonize with anybody and make it sound so great. There will never be another singer like Tammy.

  • There just isn't any talent like this anymore. and the void runs very deep.

  • Beautiful.

  • Great harmony, and Tammy was so beautiful here. She was a classy lady!

R.I.P. Tammy, you will forever be missed.May your beautiful voice live on forever.

  • I've lived a long hard life...and when i hear this song..all those years melt away...and i'm a kid in the kitchen singing this song with my mama..I cannot express my thanks enough to you for posting this song...thank you.

  • Tammy voice was in top form heer. She was in one of those sweet spots where her health was good. If only....

  • listening to this you can hear a real singer in both of them...Their voices really were the music, not the instruments.

  • i was always a classic rock/heavy metal guy ,but when i hear merle bust out the fender tele in full force with tammy singing harmony, country style, it just breaks my heart and i become a full fledged country fan. god bless the merle & the tammy....

  • this is a country gem: tammy and merle. i'm tellin' ya, people: this is country music, plain and simple. today i started lovin' you again. that's the truth:....

  • ...this feeling is casual. and laid back...classic performances from Merle and Tammy ...!

  • It's a shame Merle didn't learn anything from Nixon.....

  • Listenin here in montreal july 2011, 3 in the mornin...thankyou tammy, merle and whoever posted this x

  • i'm not even a country guy but this is in my top 10 greatest videos of all time. merle and tammy kicked it out of the park....

  • hi, could someone upload the audio version, many thanks

  • One of the greatest duet singers, singing Merle's hit song! First heard this through my mom's ole 8-track player! Sad to see why people dislike sound like this. Merle Haggard is still George Jones favorite singer!

  • ya.

  • Good job we miss you tammy.

  • When real hearts sang real songs about real life.

  • @verbaud this is so true, only just learnt how to do this and I swear people are reading my mind. Yours is one of the truest comments I've read. The 50,s 60, 70,s and 80,s were the best country music. Whats happened to the country music today. dont any of these singers have hearts? We should write a song called "When real hearts sang real songs about real life" Maybe the singers of today might get the message.

  • I just cannot thank you enough to post this wonderful song. I love, love, and love it. Thank you for making my day.

  • Hello! This is a wonderful video. Thanks for posting it. I love country music, especially back at that time. Ricky Van Shelton was on the scene and some others, but I'm partial to Ricky Van Shelton. But I love Merle Haggard! Five *****'s and thumbs up! Gwen Weaver

  • Mere is a treasure, if you reckon otherwise, eat my corn

  • My two favorite singers, singing together. Don't see how it could get any better! Great video. Thanks for posting it.

  • This song was written about Bonnie Owens and she always sang it with him. Hence the kiss from Tammy. Bonnie and Merle were not married at this time.

  • whoohoo!x

  • too cool cant beat this real country right there

  • Ok folks this is 10 years before our beautiful first lady left us. The first note out of her mouth brings tears to my eyes.

  • @WilliamPierce38

    I was at that show

Tammy appearing on stage with Merle

was the highlight of the featival

  • @redhanded78 Fascinating.. Did Tammy perform any other numbers?

  • Play this at least once a day

  • vØll_geil_lêúté_sucht_mÂl_ñåch:_olikohle_áuf_goÔglÉ_võll_gÊÏl

  • I though "We don't let our hair grow long and shaggy like the hippies out in San Francisco do"..:D

  • Improvising harmony on the fly. Tammy was amazing.

  • Merle is an American treasure, more popular than most entertainers and understandably so. What a songwriter he is, cover versions of his works are heard in almost every club, honky tonk and roadhouse there is. Not to mention what a great singer he is!

Tammy brings more charisma to the stage than any female singer who stood before a microphone. With a voice that bears a 'trademark' like no other, that tearful break and the sheer power keeps the audience mesmerized.

    A wonderful pairing!

  • Tolle Stimmen! Ganz grosse klasse.

  • george dickel and merle haggard, ain't nuth'in better! old number 8 or 12, good stuff!!

  • YOU CAN FEEL THE ENERY!!THEY DID IT GREAT TOGETHER!!

  • PURE COUNTRY

  • Tammy's voice... my goodness! As George Jones would sing "Who's gonna fill their shoes?"

  • I think she whispered to TW to sing together. Before that, they were singing separately.Tw looked great...

  • She was probably saying, I would love to be in your shoes tonight....

Fabulous song by 2 of the best R.I.P. TW

  • Wonder what the woman was whispering to Tammy, a change or something? She seemed to be swallowed up by the song after the lady comes on stage...and btw, I'm a HUGE Tammy fan, just curious.

  • There will NEVER be another Tammy. No one can even imitate her. Merle's awesome. The loved singing together.

  • this song really gets to my heart it gets me to thinking
