the video game is and the exploitation they try n suck out of the art of movement.. why play virtual when you can learn so much about yourself, using the mind, body n soul in the real world..
@0ddball64 This kind of publicity gets parkour out to gamers. they see what can actually be done...although in a video game some of it IS a little over the top. It's all about getting it out there and known by more people. It does have downsides...But lets try focus on being positive here right?
"Can you do it? They asked. Anyone can do it i said. I don't think they believed me though. You see for as long as i can remember, I've pushed myself to do what normal people would consider impossible. Now your always on the edge, dancing the blade of perfection. Really is no room for error, to not be in control, well its game over. You got to think beyond the walls, beyond the boundaries. Push your mind to except that there are none. Its only impossible because you've been told it is.
Hmm, you need to be a master of your environment, not a servant to it. When i realised this, everything changed. What was down became up,what was long became short, liquid became solid. These days, nothing's what it seems. That's when i did my first slip, see i was looking at where my hand should of been, and it wasn't. Like i said, I'm not special, anyone can do this, just need to know what button to press..."
@purbit1 it was for the comercial :)...in one of those games you can go through walls or something like that...but the rest he said and did was incredible for a normal human that hasn't trained but not imposible. ^^
Parkour and freerunning is not just "tricking". Anyone can do it if he believe that he can. I aggree that it reguire physical ability but it also reguire the ability to trick your mind. You push your mind to accept that you can do it. Parkour and freerunning is a lifestyle, you live it you are not doing it.
well sorry to bother you after 2 weeks but i just cannot resist replying hehehe. Well tricking actually is related to video games. Such as feilong kick from street fighter. Ofc we can't do everything what we see in a game but it still gives you new ideas. And BTW its freerunning in this commercial not tricking. Peace
No in hells way is it related. Playing video games requires sitting on the couch. Anyone can do it. But tricking, freerunning, and parkour require intense physical ability. So don't try to tell me otherwise. Oh and BTFW, this is tricking in the commercial.. as well as freerunning.
It allures people because it implies that by buying these games you can do what 'normal people' would consider impossible, except virtually and without any effort, on the couch. It is actually a very good ad in this, although you are right, it does not seem related as it doesn't tie the two together very well, but nonetheless some beautiful moves, nicely filmed as well.
i used to never believe i coud do any of this and yes after you learn parkour you will start to see things differently as in wut he says "you need to be a master of your environment not a servant to it" that is true when you learn parkour you see things you never saw before as in different paths to take without a barrier to stop you all u see is that one path that you make
He means its a mind set. I'm gymnast myself and I do free running/parkour, and I can vouch, a lot of what stops you from doing something is your bodies natural instinct of saying "Don't do that. You'll hurt yourself". Mental block if you will. Basically he's saying if you can break that barrier a human's potential is pretty limitless. Which it is.
