What's up man, way to get it in. I see a lot of people talking about the form being bad, but they may be due to it being a very heavy weight. Perhaps that was your first time trying it that heavy? I also see you said you haven't been doing them much lately, the body can forget sometimes.
you know what at this weight, 100lbs, a kettlebell and dumbbell are going to be equally as difficult. the center of gravity is not going to be an issue, if it was then we would be looking at his hips not his wrist. in fact if your wrist is bent backwards holding a kettlebell in TGU then your form is all wrong, this guys form was good, not excellent.
There isn't any particular form for it really. You get down in the position he started in, then you stand up. That's all. Most people just get it into a one armed overhead squat stance and get up from there. He did it kind of like a lunge. It wasn't bad form.
wtf is that....do it with a kettle bell 10x harder and please dot act like your the hulk just because you did a shitty form get up with a dumbell i dont know why u recorded this just a waste of time
would a kettle bell really be harder? give me a fucking break, and give this guy a break while you're at it hater. this looked good mosdef. nice job man!
yes a kettle bell is harder and alot harder infact look at the dumbell the weight is balanced you dont need to use any extra force but the KB all the weight is below you and you need to really balance it
in the vids ive seen the people who perform it with a kettle bell have it resting against the back of their hand. i just cant see how this would be any harder. and most gyms do not have kettle bells so this guy is just working with what hes got.....
bc with a dumbbell all the weight is balanced 50/50 on each side of your hand/arm with a kettlebell the weight is pulling down towards you forcing you to balance the weight. Almost the same difference as dumbbell chest press and and flat bench press and using a smith machine. You use less effort to stabilize the weight hence fourth making it easier. Understand?
the bell is resting against your forearm with the wrist bent backwards but the weight is still balanced, the bells mass is evenly distributed. All weights exert their force downwards, thats gravity.Makes no sense.
yeah gravity does do its thing... but its where the center of gravity is in relationship with were you are attached to the weight. meaning, if the weight is on either side of your hand its balanced at the point of where you are attached to that weight. if the weight is below your hand, this would change the balance. either way its still hard to do! well unless you're using like 30lbs or something!
Good job. Just a quick tip: if you take off those shoes you'll be more stable and it will probably be easier. Even minimal cushioning in shoes will screw with your balance and stability.
great job but your footwork is backwards. normally the foot that has its sole on the ground is on the same side as the weight. i guess it can get a bit confusing when you have 100lbs above your head :)
hey king--not bad for your first time w/ 100--but slow the motion down a bit--stay in control.
don't get pissed at these other people, they're just trying to help you out--remember on board it's tough to know what frame of mind people are in when they're writing their comments--give 'em the benefit of the doubt.
look good to me. I dont know why so many people are talkin trash to this guy. Iam a hardcore martial artist who recently dislocated his shoulder. Iam rehabing with this exercise. Hopefully my shoulder will get that strong to prevent further dislocations.........WAY TO GO!! keep it up...dont listen to these fools on here
To say that you are not using your rotator cuff on this exercise shows just how little you know about exercise. Any time you you move your arm AT ALL, your rotator cuff comes in to play.
i am not moving my arm AT ALL, Einstein. i am holding it straight up. if you knew anything about strength exercises you would know that my lower back is the one that was compromised, not my rotator cuff.
terrible? not really. not great but decent for a 100 pounds and it being my first time. You really need to keep your ignorant comments to yourself before i spaze on you.
You should try looking up an actual turkish get up. Look somewhere like crossfit where they can actually teach you something. Also if it was your first time you were stupid for trying 100lbs. You should spend your time training instead of posting videos showing us how not to work out
i never said it was my first time preforming a "partial" Turkish get up, i said it was the first time i was trying it a 100lbs. Einstein. Stop trying to learn how to work out thru youtube video. Read a book and stay off my board before i Turkish get up your stupid ass.

Better be careful or you'll tear out your rotator cuff.
