I don't think the sparks speed you up. On the contrary, I think they slow you down, thereby rewarding more precision handling. The less time you spend jamming a direction before a turn, the faster you will go. I think.

I don't understand how you can use the sparks on the corner to make you go faster? Can you explain it please.
