Yet, another amazing thought provoking scene in the beginning. What we see, is not always what is true. What we believe is not always right. The zombies don't know they are zombies. What if they aren't zombies? What if this is just an illusion? In the US, they wouldn't want you to think like this. This these ROMs are the only way we can play games as great as this.

Or the zombies might be like those in Resident Evil, and not have the capacity for rational thought, not to mention speech. I believe the illusion was that the townspeople were either still townspeople or still around, Poenk. I have yet to see the rest of the series (or play the game) though, so I could very well be wrong.
