  • ...i wonder how many Recarded Figures are being sold on auction sites as Original Card?. thats what i am worried about. i personally open my figures. also i did research on fake autographs and it is stated that at least 30% of all signed items are Fakes! Wow! now i am wondering if my autograph Boba Fett figure is real or not? if you did not actually see that person sign your item then there is a chance it is fake. so sad how many dirty people there are in this world!...

  • these are real vintage figures ,resealed for the next 30 or more years im not going to spend thousands of bucks for original packaging when i can have a resealed one for less im not a collector never will be, its good to see a cheaper way to relive your chil hood , so go ahead and spend the big bucks dick head my satisfaction is that i have them ,,,,

  • Now is that a fake card? because what if you have the original card back and you just want to put the figure back on the card back. would this affect the value much or is this what this guy is doing?

  • get this dirt of the air!! fake crap ruins the hobby, dont buy this dirt not its not worth any money either!!! buyer beware!!!

  • FAKE, FAKE recarded crap!! no collector in his right mind would touch this dirt!!! no history throw them in the bin were they belong!!

  • As a young teenager I remember getting these action figures for around $1.95 each at K-mart (in the early 80's).

The original cardbacks had a glossy shine to them. These copied versions have a flat look to them. That's how I can tell they've been recarded. I still have around 35 of my action figures in my Darth Vader case. I didn't realize how easy it was to recard these. But it does seem dishonest to me.

  • Where do you get the card backs? Ebay?

  • As I see it, if someone wants the original 12 Star Wars figures re-carded for their own personal display case, this is a nice and simple way to do it. I will never be able to replicate my childhood memories fully because all my original 12-backs were on Australian Toltoys cards anyway. The Kenner logo only appeared in Australia from 20-backs onwards. For me, the second wave would mean more on Kenner 21-back cards as they would be closer to what I originally owned.

  • I allso want to know where on the web I can download the vintage cardbacks. I have the empire and starwars but can't find the Jedi ones.

  • hey i love your guide, its just sooo helpful!

but one question though: where can i download vintage card back pics so i can print em out?

  • Luv this guy lol

  • the scotch tape dont work

for bigger items the only thing you got right was the craft knife the rest uv no idea about nothing

  • lol this is great. people who keep toys in their packaging are just sad.

  • @acanthopleura

So we are gonna buy a mint 1978 vintage six million dollar man big foot and just rip the cunt wide open?

  • great vid, enjoyed the heck out of it

  • you sound southern

  • Nice. Shame on you, if you think this is a bad thing! I just orderd a ROTJ remake Darth Vader card for my Vintage Vader figure, on eBay for only 8.00$! Like who wants to spend 500 fucking dollars for a 30 year old figure?!? Ik can't come up with money for rael Vintage figure! I think it's great that you can get a nice remake for like 10.00$ and recard the figure on your own, instead of buying a stupid AFA graded figure for 1000$!!!

  • I bet he also sells cocaine full of rat poison as well

  • hello

  • Hey, I have a lot of old star wars toys from the 70's and figures, and toys and cups and what not from like 1999 era. Wonder of anyone could help me price this crap.

  • What you need to know?

  • got a real pretty mouf boy lol

  • So you just "Tape" it back in place with 2 sided tape. That is SOOOO complicated. Good thing you have a 3 part video to explain this whole super complicated process of taping it together. Tape. Hi-Tech shit. Now go sell your totally fake "MOC" Star Wars Figure on EBay for like $400. And who is the idiot in part 2 who asks if you should Tape the Figure to the card, before you put TAPE the Bubble down. I'm Not a Smart Man, but I know what Rip-Off's are. TAPE, FORREST, TAPE !!!!!!!

  • There is nothing wrong with replica cardbacks. The originals are to hard to come across in decent shape. Pricing is just ridiculous. The same can be said for movie posters. I buy not for the figure still in the original package, but for the cardback instead. If you think about it, you are only being ripped off because of the price. It is an original!! Pay me $5,000. The main concern is that collectors realize it is not the real deal. Shame on anyone trying to make people believe differently.

  • This does nothing but hurt the collecting community and the years we have spent trying to complete our collections! If you want to make these for yourself that's one thing. Making money or trying to make a name for yourself with reproductions and letting them get into the wrong hands is a completely different story. Unless you are marking the cards as REPRO you are being dishonest! New to the hobby collectors are being SCAMMED ON EBAY by dishonest people passing these off as the real deal.

  • wow you suck

  • Please, don't recard your figures. If they are out of the box, leave them out. Buyer Beware: A card with no punch and a perfect bubble and not AFAed will be a fake... period.

  • Collectors BEWARE....there is a scam artist that sells recard kits called Yodas Hovel at a site called classicstarwarsfigures.c0m He is a THIEF that has ripped off many in the past. He recently got kicked off ebay for his activities. He ripped me off so I want to warn you.....Dont let tha PRICK RIP YOU OFF TOO...BEWARE...

  • i seen these recards side by side to my original they look shit !!! these are fakes recard is a nice name for fakes!!! i hate these poxy recards for me if its not real bin it!!!!!! keep it real

  • Well now that I think, you can do it for display purposes which is a nice idea.

  • There's no point in recarding figures. The point of buying carded figures is because they're vintage and not taken out of the package. Back then, kids didn't think of collectors value and opened all the packages of course, that's why original carded figures are hard to come by, as well as original weapons. Tons of reproductions out there.

  • hickkkkk

  • Excellent Idea!!! Well done.

  • you have the best hobby!!! I wish I still had my toys from back in the day!!!

  • you just gave me a brillaint idea! Thanks so much!

    Tribryce

  • wow, this guy must not have a girl, jesus you yanks seriously need to get out more

  • thats for the great guide, where do you recommend buying the cards/ bubbles.

  • Warning:

This process includes an ice cold beer!

    LOL

  • GREAT video Darth, 5 stars. Thanks!

  • shows just how boring americans are

  • Boring BUT FREE!!

  • It shows how great our quality of life is that we can waste time on the hobbies of our choice. Sorry to offend the starving huddled masses of foregin countries with our opulence.

  • Thank you very much I need help with this

  • haha, what a dumbass. I bet he can't take a shit without a beer.

  • Hey Darth Beer,

I have a question for buying cardbacks

where can I get some really good quality ones for a decent price?

  • Upon close inspection you can tell the difference. Original cardbacks are usually glossier than replica cardbacks. The image on an original cardback will be more crisp also.

    -Darth Beer

  • nice instruction video, i would never myself atempt this, but i can see wuy people would, i do have a collection of vintage figures stored away, i even got some cards, well maybe 1 day ild try it out, great video. 5 stars and ild be shore to check out ur show

  • and you try to pass this off as vintage MIP?

  • I can´t believe this... People that are resealing cards should burn in hell forever. A true collector would never touch this shit.

    Stick to the real deal.

  • I guess I'm not a "true" collector then, because I'm in the process of collecting and recarding an ENTIRE set of vintage figures. LOL! Anyway, be sure to check out my other videos. You'll especially want to watch "Vintage Star Wars Weekly episode 3", and post more of your insightful comments on that episode of the show, since it covers recarding.

    - Darth Beer

  • A true collector eh?? Well, I say that a true collector would never be stupid enough to pay such ridiculous high prices for the real deal when they can enjoy a vintage line for themselves for much much cheaper. We'll be enjoying our reseals while you scrounge around goin bankrupt over the years tryin to get THE REAL DEAL.....Some people have no clue or understanding of what is important in life. Plus, Darthbeer can enjoy more beer this way too! lol :)

  • Very well put PADAWAN23

    -Darth Beer

  • Thank you very much Darth Beer. :)

Nice choice of beer by the way. The ol' Icehouse is my preferred beer. Thumbs up to ya!! :)

  • @yokasvonreinhardt Only a rich person could sound so arrogant and stupid.

  • @yokasvonreinhardt in their defense most sellers on ebay state its a recard, for people who cant afford the real thing

  • @yokasvonreinhardt Thank you my thoughts exactly, this dude is not only a fraud but a disgrace to true Star Wars fans everywhere. He probably prints his own currency in his basement lol

  • Hey buddy, where'd you get those pretty acrylic cases? PS) Nice video dude!!!!

  • You can get the nice acrylic and the cheap plastic cases both on ebay.

FOR THE ACRYLIC CASES, search: "acrylic star case". They usually cost about $12.00 each plus shipping.

FOR THE CHEAP PLASTIC CASES, search: "protech star case". They cost about $1.50 plus shipping.

Hope this helps you out. Also, be sure to check out my other videos if you haven't caught an episode of "Vintage Star Wars Weekly" yet.

  • forget the materials, where can i get beer cans of that size? :P

  • It's a 16oz can. Many people call them "tall boys". You can buy a 6-pack of them in most gas stations around here for about $4.00. It's a really good deal! As I said in the video, the tall boy is not required for the recarding process, but it does make it go alot smoother! LOL

  • Since it requires so much patience i guess the beer ingredient helps a lot. Thanks for the tutorial! Im looking forward to a tutorial on how to get resources like cards, card images, plastics etc

  • Nice job buddy.. Very helpful..

  • Glad it helped you out!

  • i always wanted to recard things but i never had the supplies like the cards. i wanna make a custom for one of my blue snaggletooths.

  • We'll be talking about that in one of our episodes. We'll be providing links to several different sites with info that will help you out.

  • cool im looking forward to it.

  • which episode?

  • To tell you the truth, I'm not really sure yet which episode it will be, but there WILL be an episode dedicated to recarding.

  • Betsy is hot.
