  • Well, you might get a Jackson Pollack if you shake paints up in a box :P

  • Ray Comfort is comparing inorganic materials with organic which react different in nature which results in a really poor analogy.

  • good vid, but there's really no need at all to refute ray's "analogy" or to explain he's a moron. Anyone who doesn't already see that is hopeless and certainly won't be helped by this or any other video.

  • So the piss poor analogy may be your own. Because if i were to say watches just happen naturally you would call me a fool yet if i ask you where did these natural processes come from or where did the universe come from you would say we just find them naturally? The human brain just evolved naturally, the 2x4 needed an intelligence to make it. I think you really just debunked yourself.

  • Rays argument was that ALL complex structures need a maker. I was showing that some structures can be assembled without a maker if there is a natural assembly mechanism (such as chemical bonding) and the building blocks exist naturally in their necessary forms (such as amino acids). I wasn't trying to explain the origin of all matter here. You created that straw man because you couldn't address the argument. As for matter, who's to say matter hasn't always existed?

  • I addressed the argument by stating that no system, the clock nor the universe, can explain itself. So can you argue that a system can explain itself which you have not addressed. Its not a strawman because you stopped at "natural processes". Ultimately u do believe a clock forms naturally because everything came naturally. Science says matter didn't always exist, it began.

  • so lets really think through this awful analogy. The watch needed a human, the human needed evolution (your conclusion), evolution needed chemical processes chemical processes need atoms, atoms need the basic laws of nature, the basic laws of nature needed (i dont know) the big bang, the big bang needed what. this can go on and on to what? Why is there something instead on nothing? It all has to be explained by something outside our system. So why was this system setup to create self awareness?

  • It is purely your speculation that this universe was "set up to create self awareness".

  • Well I look at what I think is a miracle that we are self aware and I think the odds of that just happening naturally by mistake are overwhelmingly in my favor. Science speculates there is no creator, and I speculate there has to be.

  • Physicist know this which is why the came up with the many universes idea. If scientist said we have it the basic law of everything x + y = z. Well why x and why y. This is a logically unending process because no system can explain itself. You must always go outside the system to explain origins.

  • NO system can explain itself. You must go outside the system to explain it. The watch needed to be manufactured by something outside itself. Same is true of universe as a system. The most basic natural procesesses cannot explain themselves. You must go outside the system to explain their origin. Therefore something outside the universe had to create these natural processes. That is the basic argument of the watchmaker.

  • No system? So in your estimation, the system that the creator of this system lives in, does it require something outside of it's system to explain its existence? In other words, if there must be something supernatural to explain this universe, does there have to be something super-supernatural to explain the supernatural system? Is this really your argument?

  • Our reality has one dimensional time and science confirms it began. Outside our reality the rules could all change. things like start and end, something and nothing could have no meaning and beyond our comprehension. So since no one is aware of that reality you cannot say there is definately no creator. Because this universe is so fine tuned for life I believe the odds are there is a creator.

  • You're ducking the question. Can a system explain itself or not. If no system can, then the proposed system your god lives in cannot explain itself and must require another system. If a system can, then this universe needs no external explanation.. Answer the question. Back up your assertion. Put up or shut up chief.

  • @undertoww

" ... this universe is so fine tuned for life ... "

The Universe is mostly empty space at a temperature around absolute 0. That's hardly fine tuned for life.

  • Here is a really great video about this topic:

And I really think that Ray Comfort knows his arguments are nonsense, it seems almost impossible for someone to put forth some of the arguments he does without being a troll (I don't know what they call it off the internet). The thing is, he knows that religious people don't care, so he gets away with it.

  • The watch analogy works in Ray's case. I mean, who else exemplifies total lack thought-process that isn't an inanimate object?

  • Ray Comfort is a fuckn moron. The watch or the coke can etc cannot reproduce by either sexual or asexual reproduction or by pollination so therefore he fails. Fuckn tool, open a biology book.

  • great job, Wayne. Good to see you making videos again...

    hint hint...that means make more!

I like the angle you take here....good stuff.

  • For the very first in History I 100% agree with you!
