  • Im a huge fan of peppercorn, your recipe is very simple yet amazing, very strong flavor yet subtle with the potato, may I suggest some lemon cream?

  • This should serve as a warning to everyone not to do drugs and cook at the same time...eh?

  • great stuffed, never cooked a steak before(sad i know!!)...wasn't the best steak but wasn't that bad but thats my fault ahha +1

  • way to much pepper.

  • Over all Very Nicely Prepared... I personaly enjoy my steak t be more on the rare side, for me its slap it on the ass and send it in but i usually dont put it in the oven for more then 2 min

  • you never mentioned how long it needs to be in the oven after grilling the steak. what's the answer?

  • fantastic video!

  • Good job

  • I prefer wild rice over potatoes with my steak

  • You burnt the hell out of that steak. You started with a cold pan and then just left it to burn on full heat. You want a slightly under smoke point cast iron pan that you reduce after about 1 minute. This will promote a maillard reaction giving you a nice brown crust (not black). Pepper burns and turns to carbon giving a bitter taste to the meat, especially at a temp you were cooking at. With pepper you need to reduce the heat even more.

  • @jdub1121 it looks black because of the pepper crust. its not burnt. i do that same thing. soooo good.

  • it's searing!

  • meat and tatters woo hoo rock on take the batteries outta the smoke alarm and char some meat boy hell yeah!

  • you take your frying pan....and you smash it...LOL

    nice video man, thanks

  • make some chicken or hot wings in the oven

  • thats exactly how i cook my steak but i use different seasonings. you did a good job.

  • @dwainbunker a tbone has a smaller tenderloin side

  • 5:10

    thats what she said

  • dont get it

  • "let me stick this in"

oh fuck, thats what he said.

    thank you for the correction!

  • omg! hahaha

  • @MarcelEVHS thats what i told her

  • pan wasnt hot enuff at the beginning

  • thats alot of pepper

  • how long would it take to finish a steak in the oven and at what temp?

  • Looks good to me, but I would throw that wimpy pan away and get some cast iron! I use a Lodge cast iron grill-pan under the gas broiler in my oven. You can make incredible steak that way. You could also use a cast iron skillet on the stove top as well.

  • oh your such a cutie!

  • Dude your gonna catch a pepper heart attack

  • hahaha

  • This is NOT how you cook a proper portherhouse steak. Or should I say, "waste" a porterhouse steak.

  • your pan is not hot enough at the start

  • freezed shit

  • good demo a few amature mistakes made but who am i to judge if thats how you like to do it go for it !!!

  • that's a lot of pepper man

  • would have been nice if you had cut into it.......... to see the finished product.

  • THIS!

  • if you sear it does that make it well done? what if you want it med rare or rare?

  • Searing cooks the outside carmelising the sugars and creating a complex set of flavors. This is called the maillard reaction. The doneness is determined by how long you cook it in the oven for.

  • WHOA, that reply said what i could not put into words. ahhhh, the beauty of the steak...i love u!

  • Animals have the right to be tasty :)

  • Good show. Does anyone know the name of the mayer song at the end?

  • good love is on the way

  • Now you know you're not suppose to grill a steak in a pan but on a pit:-( This video made me realize how cruel this world is. Steak looks good though:)

  • This method of cooking steak is actually a pretty popular method, esp for those that don't have easy access to a grill.

  • @dizzone

I have access to a decent grill. However I find that with a good cut of beef, this method provides a much tastier finished steak. I follow bens method almost exactly, the only thing I do different is I hit the broiler for a minute or so to add that "broiled" flavor. I will take this over a grilled steak any day :)

  • One burnt steak...

  • that's the seared on black pepper crust.

    Looks good to me.

  • come on guy, what do you know about cooking?

  • Cool!

Insted of adding the salt directly and cooking with it, you should try adding the sea salt on first, let it sit for about 20min to an hour, then rinse off the steak. And I mean cake it in sea salt, believe me, works charms ;) You'll notice a lot of water coming to the top after a little bit, you want to rinse it all off then pat it dry. Then add the crushed pepper and grill/fry! Makes it incredibly tender and dont worry, the salt mostly washes off, it doesnt linger and ruin the steak :P

  • You fucked that steak up !

  • Very nicely done. My steak came out great!

    Not too much information.

  • nice steak, yummy cook hehehe:)

  • lol...looks like you're gonna need any bottle of alcohol. Do you know why the non-stick pans are bad for us? Is it the chemicals they us for non stick?

  • I like the... "frond" that just won't develop in a non-stick pan.

  • great steak Keanu LOLLLLLLL

  • Thats great but he failed to mention how long to cook it.

  • Watch the clock that he keeps video taping

  • aint that the truth

  • Rad - thank you - I never cooked my own steak before

  • thanks really needed this, but umm...wat's up with the heart-shaped peppercorns and salt?
