cool vid, thanks for sharing!! If i could just add... mixing the water and butter does make for an extra step in the process, but its well worth it when you consider that the water will absorb the chlorophyll and other water based solubles that might end up in the finished butter...

@ssmokeydogg - either way works... when u add water u also have to remove that water at the end of the process... which is just more work that isnt needed.. i use the water to boil but not to mix in with my butter therefore i have nothing to separate at the end

i wouldn't call that the best method. you should use trim if possible, cheaper and equally effective. and you dont need the cloth, just dump all of it, weed and butter, in a crackpot and remove everything except clear liquid when done. then just put it in your freezer till it hardens. but then again, if it works for you! great video

Best way I would say is to experiment expecially when it comes to dank. And I've had some bud in the US that would probably match up to any bud out there.

That was the latest cannabutter I've made. The last two I've made (without sampling) were eaten by my golden retriever. She walked around in a circle for the longest time and fell asleep.
Though the golden really likes my spice pumpkin bread. But then she eats everything.
I like to say that the edibles I've had from dispensaries have had the effect of only quicken my heart. No other effect that I've notice. No dry anything, pain still there and no mood changes.

I've used a slow cooker with unsalted butter(1#) to 1 oz of flower. Combined both turn off slow cooker when hot to touch; let cool and repeat 1 or 3 times; strain after 3rd cooling and freeze cycle.
I've made spice pumpkin bread with the butter and had great effect the first day with my first slice, but subsequent slices had no effect.
Alright I've done this a bunch of times, when you do this for only 2 hours it does not work very well at all and you wont get very high. So now i'm gnna try 6 hours and i bet the'll be awesome.
@AlwaysBLEM - too many hours will cook the thc right out of it.. be careful.. if you use pure kief, it only needs to be melted into the butter (30 mins or so)

@MrQC420 - yes bud contains more thc than trimmings do. u can use 4 sticks with a qtr of dank! all depends on the strength of your bud and your tolerance level. more weed, less butter = more potent!
@TheUnknownGrower - if u have the bud to use, then use it! if not, trim works fine. bud just has a much higher thc content then trimmings, therefore u get a more potent product.

@NorCalMediGrower - i have heard of people doing this and it working. its never worked for me. thc needs to be heated up in order to be released as a chemical. you would need to make butter with it and spread on sandwich.
is it just me or does it seem like the butter would have a harder time getting to all the weed since its all clumped together instead of being all spread out? doesn't seem like just smushing and moving around with the spoon would be enough, but your butter was nice and green.
@bond343 Did you ever make a cup of tea?? It's the same principle man. It doesn't matter that it's wrapped up in a tea bag. It still flows though, just like making a cup of tea using a tea bag.
@motherhead123 - well the water is only simmering and the buds and butter are in the jar only using the heat from the simmering water which isnt hot enough to burn the thc. thc doesnt burn or vaporizer until a steady 350*F temp.. this water is around 190* as u can see i put my fingers in it with no issues!
@cKunke2 - yes that was a total of 40 grams.. it was ground up so fine it doesnt look like it. you dont have to use near that much. u can use 14 grams and be ok. i am growing a strain now that only takes about 10 grams per 4 sticks of butter to make some super potent stuff.

this is retarded, just use less water and the water will be gone by the end. its really not that hard to strain it ether. you just put cheese cloth over a fine wire strainer and there ya go. you dont even have to wait until it cooled down.

That was the latest cannabutter I've made. The last two I've made (without sampling) were eaten by my golden retriever. She walked around in a circle for the longest time and fell asleep.
Though the golden really likes my spice pumpkin bread. But then she eats everything.
I like to say that the edibles I've had from dispensaries have had the effect of only quicken my heart. No other effect that I've notice. No dry anything, pain still there and no mood changes.

I like your method of pre-screening the product.
I've used a slow cooker with unsalted butter(1#) to 1 oz of flower. Combined both turn off slow cooker when hot to touch; let cool and repeat 1 or 3 times; strain after 3rd cooling and freeze cycle.
I've made spice pumpkin bread with the butter and had great effect the first day with my first slice, but subsequent slices had no effect.
Could I've cooke the thc?

Alright I've done this a bunch of times, when you do this for only 2 hours it does not work very well at all and you wont get very high. So now i'm gnna try 6 hours and i bet the'll be awesome.

@MrQC420 - yes bud contains more thc than trimmings do. u can use 4 sticks with a qtr of dank! all depends on the strength of your bud and your tolerance level. more weed, less butter = more potent!

@motherhead123 - well the water is only simmering and the buds and butter are in the jar only using the heat from the simmering water which isnt hot enough to burn the thc. thc doesnt burn or vaporizer until a steady 350*F temp.. this water is around 190* as u can see i put my fingers in it with no issues!

@cKunke2 - yes that was a total of 40 grams.. it was ground up so fine it doesnt look like it. you dont have to use near that much. u can use 14 grams and be ok. i am growing a strain now that only takes about 10 grams per 4 sticks of butter to make some super potent stuff.

I actually just now learned that you can cook cannabis into the oil of brownies and use quite a bit less and that's what I was planning on baking this butter into anyways.
