Well in my family, there were usually enough excommunications to keep the numbers of attendees down to a manageable amount. I've found that repressing these memories works well. Oh, and on the subject of guns and relatives, I've got this great photo from a book showing my grandma holding a rifle with a scope on it with the caption "She held out for as long as she could". (re: imminent domain seizure of land)

My family isn't that bad - yes they are screwed up but it's nothing but who's getting knocked up this time and finding out things like your uncle - a city boy - is moving down south and buying a farm for no reason at all.

We don't have alcohol at Thanksgiving .. well, maybe a beer or two but that was mostly my Great Aunt (Bless her soul that woman was the best)

and yes, the kitchen is that cooks turf. I HATE it when people come in and tell me what to do.

What software did you use for the vocal effects?

it is part of Ulead. Do a video search on How to talk like Fred. There are many videos. To get the Borg effect I laid down two audio copies of the original video. One with the pitch set higher and the other with the pitch set lower. Then I play them with my video with normal voice to get the Borg effect. To just set the pitch high you mute the original video and set the pitch in audio settings.

This might be my Grandmothers last ThanksGiving but I've been very grateful to her for the first 40 years of my life and she is my last grandparent. Well for me my mother side of the family has always been the non chaotic side.

My fathers different story, and all the drama is caused by one aunt. Whose actions in trying to help my grandmother just made her Alzheimer's get worse, and she took the family to court where she lied out the ass. Plus her husband is a conspiracy and ufo nut. After my grandmother passed away she hasn't been in contact with the rest of the family.
