reason 1: as previously stated above IT IS A 5STORY 150TON WALKIN TANK WITH(LRMs),PULSE LASER CANNONS,AND 50mm CANNONS A NEAR MISS WITH THE LRM WOULD DO IT

reason 2 The Battle Mech is powered with a nuclear reactor a self destruct would wipe out the entire area

reason 3 animation is a hell of alot better (lol)

wow, you dont know battletech then - 100 tons is the maximum tonnage. the tallest mech is only 34 feet tall (10.5 m) (the size of a 3 story office building). lasers arent cannons. a 50mm machine gun barely does any damage in battletech. the reactor is a Fusion reactor - if/when the reactor goes critical it implodes not explodes.

i have no arguement with the animation being better - but the acting was probably worse on the BT/MW side. :/

50mm machine guns weren't meant to be used against the Mech. They were meant to be used against the Pilot.

Shooting cockpits is for hotshots.

the only purpose the machine gun is even equiped on a mech is in case it runs into infantry.

hitting a cockpit with a 50mm cannon wont do much to (for the most part and can survive up to the second highest autocannon in the game) bullet proof rounds.

Uhm. You must not be skilled like I am. In the MW games I played back in the day, I'd always 50mm the cockpits to kill the pilots.

And infantry is infantry. Doesn't matter what you use against them; although, a 50mm cannon is ideal.

Once again, you're wrong. Sorry. But 50mm guns are meant for killing the pilot. Assuming you're not fighting infantry...that you can just step on.

i know, i was a battlemaster for Mechwarrior AOD and DA. CBT hasnt even attempted to make rules to make that official - so right now it isnt. 50mm cannons against a cockpit would take a long time to get through to the pilot. also in mechwarrior 2 there was no infantry in mechwarrior 3 there was, but machine guns barely did anything to them (which was the beauty of elementals to begin with). you have not played the board game - otherwise you would know all this -machineguns are ment to crit-find

No. That's the entire point. The anime is a school club making a very poorly done (especially in terms of special effects) movie about some magical girl fighting evil. The joke is that we're using these scenes of CLEARLY bad special effects attacks as if they were the most ultimate explosions in the universe. Compare and contrast with Falcon Punch.
