TIbet proper has always been an independant country.Under the tibetan government, tibetan landowners had to pay an annual tax and send 3-4 men to enrol in the small army that was the tibetan army. It's only since 1950 that the corrupt Commie pigs claimed Tibet as a part of China. I have nothing against the people of CHina. I was with 12 Tibetan monks about an hour ago. And work with a nonprofit that helps refugees reaching India. I feel bad for those who listen to what their government tell them when the government openly withholds the truth. I get my information from the people living these experiences, both chinese and tibetans. The only way to learn is to open your mind and talk to those who are living it. I wish the government would let the media talk to the tibetans

Dalai Lama has indicated he wants autonomy for Tibet, I havent checked the dictionary recently but I believe that doesnt mean independence. Every human on this planet has right to exist with their belief system regardless of whether the chinese government or any other government agrees with it or not. I know this is a dead end subject in many areas of the world however I thought chinese PEOPLE were at least intelligent enough (the ones who write here) to realize suppression doesnt work.

You say there is no proof of killings. IF the Chinese want to show the world how correctly and peacefully they are dealing with the protests and the Western world is bias in its reportings, why won't they allow ANYONE to report from Tibet and let them see for themselves?

These western medias fail to prove any killings of Tibetan protestors by the Chinese troops, because THERE'S NO killings by the troops. However, all the violence are performed by protestors who cannot bear to be losers. They hate Chinese not because of the government policies, but because they are lazy and incompetent to make money. I suggest these losers to learn some knowledge and try to feed themselves first.
