  • Cage worked

  • Its funny, after the crash the camera ends up pointing at a joint on the cage that was tacked on, n ot welded hahaha

  • Wow without a roll cage, some bad things may have happened

  • and people think that roll cages arent worth the $1600 +

  • you all right? yeah im all right. no your not your dazed, you fail the test!

  • i bet your happy that you put that roll cage in

  • thats turn 9 for ya...

^^ and he could have his sway bars set up to oversteer more than understeer and or have is valving in his shocks set up a certain way for that car.

  • just took my evo x up there... seriously dude, learn the friggon line before you push it...that was the WRONG entrance for turn 9 (aka turn'o'death) awd doesn't fix bad driving... :P

  • Was clear he didn't drive well, but at least he had the good sense to wrap himself in a car with a cage.

  • Damn I was just there on July 10th an 11th, Turn 9 is a big Killer.

  • wow dude... flippin wow, you can hear your self snore when you got knocked out, that turn 9 has a massive dip in it and shot your ass end in the dirt. you my friend are THEE MAN!

  • THat sucks, sorry, Horrible line into turn 9 though.

  • @richor I agree, apex out of that corner too soon and you'll find the dip. Which in turn unloads your suspension and thus a loss of traction. You definitely want to stay off the outside of that corner.

  • i think i should get a roll cage....hmm

  • ahh that'll buff right out

  • holy %#*@, the car still started after looking like that? 4G63 FTW!

  • all of this happened because he kept accelerating through the turn so the tires had no more traction to keep the car turning

Gran Turismo teaches alot especially in the end of the game manual where it tells you how to race correctly in real life

  • Yeah, turn 9 is unforgiving. The reason you heard a snoring sound is that the soft palate goes limp when you're knocked out. One of the first guys to the car sounded like Kenny Rumbaugh from San Diego (Scott's Porsche).

  • looks like it got stepped on by a dinosaur ! =O

  • During a BMWCCA Club Race a guy in an 88 M3 did exactly the exact same move right in front of me, end over end into the same berm. He broke his back, however, Although serious, he wasn't crippled or anything. Deja Vu all over again.

  • damn that was tight

  • hola crap! he flipped it end over end!!

  • After getting knocked about and getting bruised up, you make noises that's how it is I don't know why. And you instinctively want to restart your car and keep going like nothing happened lol. Racer's adrenaline. I experienced same thing, though I didn't flip like that.

  • wat happened was he dipped he left 2 wheels on exit tryd to get back on track when the front wheel came on the rear end was still in dirt, whipped out and boom. has nothing to do with awd traction. just bad luck

  • yea he flipped the crap out of it. and it knocked him out too you can hear that sound like a horse, yea that was him knocked out and then he came out of it and tried to crank the f'n car. i feel bad for him :P

  • I know this team personally.

This was the driver's 1st time in the car on the track.

Nowadays, the same driver and the EVO #92 has 24 consecutive wins under their belts, winning the SCCA championship in their class. The EVO puts down 550whp with Mueller's own customized suspension setup.

If you want to see this guy actually race. Search the video. "Muellerized Evo vs. Viper Laguna Seca"

  • i didnt see him cut across anything, his rear end seemed to have broken loose and couldnt correct it, you'd think an awd car would carry more traction than that

  • Jesus Christ. 1: Poor Evo. 2: It's amazing that cage stayed together. The fat that it's not notched to meet with the cross bar, and it's only tack welded. Truly amazing that it stayed together.

  • hooray for roll cages

  • thank god for a well built cage

  • being a corner worker...he got knocked out. that sound isn't heavy breathing. it's his tongue. we had a formula atlantic car smack the station and threw the wall back 5ft. He was out cold for a good 10 minutes and stayed in the hospital for a week. Glad he's ok though. a car is car, a life is a one time thing.

  • Thanks for posting this. Everything was going so well too! Glad the driver survived.

  • he didn't even correct steering

  • god! corner workers are so... they just dont no that much!

  • look at the roll cage , its tacked , not even solid welded... , nice track staff... shouldnt have been racing at all... KO'd for sure , poor car...

  • its ok put some zip ties on it lol

  • hey it started and the intercooler looks good

  • WOW! This guy starts the car and it looks like that? WOW!! Must have been some excellent T-bolt clamps.......

  • Couldn't have been so bad....considering the happy snap at the end, everyone smiling. By the way, why is that place called Willow Springs? I don't see ANY tree and it looks dry as a bone.

  • damn, id be happy to be ok, but id be stressing because i just fucked up my car =/

  • HE FUCKIN WENT TO SLEEP! he was KO'd... you can hear his ass snooring! wow, that fuckd him up pretty bad.

  • I think that was him trying to reinflate his lungs.

  • go faster, counter steer, laugh at those who doubted you. stop pussy footing turn 9. its only as hard as you make it!

  • Turn 9 at big Willow is indeed unforgiving. It doesn't take much...and once you start to go, there is no recovery. Glad the driver is OK.

  • corner 2 at mosport is another one.

  • Turn 9 at Big W is one of the most subtle and dangerous turns out there. It more than matches up to the Kink at Road America or #10 at Sears, #6 at Laguna Seca or the Roval at CalSpeedway. The combination of high speed and total nonforgiving aspect serves to generate a sense of command and confidence in intermediate to high intermediate drivers, and then when they cross the edge of control, bites hard and fast like a cobra strike. Study it, ride with an instructor, be patient before going fast

  • lol... did he really try strating the car after that? lol wtf

  • Turn 9 is pure evil.

  • the rollcage is the only reason why he is still alive.

  • I think you can actually hear one of the bars on the cage snap...listen for a "PING" in the middle of the crash.

  • I'm not saying that the car is slow. Even with incorrect racelines the car was still gonna pull a 1:32, which is a good time at Big Willow. And that being the first time on the course is not an excuse. Should have followed someone around who has been there before to learn the correct lines. If you wanna see some good line work, look up Colin Lucas instructor video for this track. You'll be amazed how different the lines are.

  • the car was flipping about 30 feet in the air, telemetry recorded about 10G's of lateral force. no wonder why he passed out.

  • I know this team personally. This was the driver's 1st time in the car on the track. NOW, same driver and the EVO #92 has 24 consecutive wins under them winning the SCCA championship in their class. The EVO puts down 550whp with Mueller's own customized suspension setup. I have another vid. of the same driver chasing down and passing a Viper on Laguna Seca.

  • glad nowone was hurt

  • Through out the whole video you can see that the line work is very off. There were only 3 turns where the line was good actually (Turn 5,6,7) because you can't screw those up. Apexing way too early, and as a result, you end up with exit understeer (see turn 1,3,9) Turn 9 is not so scary when you see the proper line through it. You're supposed to stay on the outside, brake late, and aim for the apex. That way you come out straight, rather than understeering into the pits.

  • x_x oooohhh i wanna salvage that motor!!!!

  • this video convince me to take an older civic/240sx and fucken learn to drive better until I drive a better car..

  • The side view of the wreckage makes it look like a Mini Cooper.

  • cage saved his life

  • KO cold, nice subtittle or i wouldn't have understand the language! sorry for your ride!

  • Evo's aren't that pretty to start with.

  • ok your dumb

  • You can't even afford your own computer, genius. I state my opinion about the car, and your comment is "ok your (you mean "you're") dumb. Alright then. It's a beautiful car. How's that?

  • ya and im just letting you know your opinion is dumb

  • And if you think EVOs are good looking cars, you must have a poster of Rosie O'Donnell in a bikini on your bedroom wall.

  • Or he's got something called an opinion, ever think of that dumb fuck?

  • LOL! so true... actually EVO's arent bad looking when lowered, rims, lip kit...

  • They have awesome performance. I was/am considering getting one. Just think they don't look quite as good as a Ferrari or Z06. I should ask that guy what he thinks of Rosie's looks. :-)

  • Turn 9 hates everyone with equal passion, it almost collected me a time or 2. :D

  • Many mistakes in almost all the turns...

  • gotta luv turn '9'

  • SHIT!!!DA CAR TEK A BEATING YUH!!!

  • Yeah I raced that track in my 2001 Cobra. Def a hard track to be a begginer on. I spun out on turn 2 and turn 5. I saw an RX7 go off on turn 6 and a civic SI turn 9, which is the turn this guy ate it on.

  • Bowser, I love Big Willow and try to get my friends to make the drive to WSIR all the time. I always show them this video and I end up going to WSIR alone.

Maybe I should stop linking this video to them? =P

I'm glad you're ok. I appreciate you uploading the whole clip.

  • dont think u guys understand...i was there and this guy was flipping so high in the air. I thought i was watching a movie when he was crashing

  • that car was in "american touge 2" hehehe wow that sux man....

  • UM... that bar that connects to the main hoop doesnt seem to be welded in properly. im pretty sure it doesnt matter now though.

  • Yeah I'd say he was a little dazed, as he tries starting the car! Also, that tube junction that ends up in front of the camera looks tack-welded in...

  • that roll bar padding......look closely...

  • that's roll bar padding in the video not a joint....look closely...

  • WOW THATS WACK

  • did you get knocked out and start snoring like knoxville when he boxed butterbean?

scary, im keeping it to autoX for now

  • sweet, Im going drifting there in a month. GNARLY!! cant be crazier than the canyons, (i hope LOL)

  • Glad you weren't hurt. Now hammer them dents out and get back out there and hammer it!

  • I ran this track as my first track. I did have instruction though. But, I did spin going into the omega.

  • see kids thats why you shouldnt drink and drive

    lol.. i'm so evil..

  • If people don't know this track is one of the most dangerous tracks period! I did not crash my car, but I spun it out on the second warm-up lap in my brand new Ferrari!!!! Maybe I am not a good driver, but I don't think it's a place for any beginners!

  • Holy crap...sorry to see that happen...

  • I think the roll cage really saved you...Now I'm really glad my Sti comes with standard side air bag...

  • Well one hell of a video!

  • I was there when this happened..seeing u flip that high in the air was pretty scary. Not to mention the fact that the event where i saw u flip was my first track event..i had so much confidence until i started seeing you car all wrecked up coming onto the front straight. That was a reminder that the last turn had to be taken slow cuz it closes up fast.
