  • cyclist goes strait van stops to wait and veichle pulls around van directly in front of cyclist the cyclist even tried turning and if the ambulance had kepy moving nothing would have happened, typical motorist, pulling out when they cant see shit then stopping in font of you and causing more of a problem than if they just ignored you. your not smart, you drive a car, so dont try to be.

  • I know our emergency vehicles (at least where I am in Canada) have an issue with turning their sirens off.

Most of the time you aren't aware they are rushing to an emergency until they are right in front of you.

  • Strictly speaking and according to the letter of the law, it would be the response car's fault. On the other hand, if the car had it's sirens on, the cyclist should be paying more attention. From personal experience, especially at that junction, cyclists act as though they are invulnerable. Sadly they are not and someone was killed exactly there less than a year ago. Thankfully this ended relatively happily!

  • @joephillips80 that area as you could see has quite a few emergency vehicles around, and it was very noisy (i wish i filmed with sound) so i guess the cyclist couldn't hear specifically the ambulance.

  • Seems pretty scary to bike through a junction like that any day, but man that was close.

  • What camera are you using here? The quality of the film looks lovely! And the traffic laws there look so much different than here! I'd probably get in a wreck lol

  • Typical cyclist in London. Selfish and total disregard for everyone else. They should be taxed and have a mandatory test.

  • it wasn't his fault, the light was green on his side and he's going straight. but as you can see the side he came from is closed for cars, so the cars ahead turning right didn't consider the bikes that are still alowed through. the cyclist had the right of way.

  • @geckodust No, the ambulance with its lights on had the right of way. Also, if the cyclist had been over to the left of its lane rather than blazing through in the middle it might have seen, and been seen by, the ambulance.

  • Also, the road being closed to traffic in that direction is irrelevant: the cones stop quite far back from the junction and might not be noticed by right-turning traffic such as the van. Any of the cars coming towards the camera, or the van parked there, could U-turn and drive into the junction the same way as the cyclist.

  • @geckodust

The cyclist was stupid to approach the junction so fast in any case, especially when there's a fire engine sitting there with blue lights on (they should expect more emergency vehicles), and, as I said, if they'd been over to the left they'd have seen past the white van waiting to turn.

  • That cyclist is such a wangface. >_>
