The MD-11 is simply an amazing jetliner, sleek looking compared to its sister the DC-10. Although many refers it as the deadliest plane to carry pax, I disagree. I think this plane is very successful thanks to McDonnell Douglas for bring this aircraft into reality and PMDG for bringing it to my desktop. This aircraft will always remain my favorite jetliner, it always will be.

great video, I've just bought the MD11x, at last, I'm already a dedicated PMDG 747 fan and am really looking forward to flying this when it arrives. I wish more flight sim videos used subtle music and left in the actual plane audio as you've done here.

In FSX, I often fly this PMDG instead of PMDG 747 because somehow, MD-11 looks better (To Me) in VC and outside with very complex system just like 747 but it is much more FPS friendly. Even though I get 13 FPS at Aerosoft Heathdrow with MyTraffic 2010 set at 33%.

I work for Aerosoft, which publishes PMDG products. I do not work DIRECTLY for PMDG. I'm sure however when it comes out, I will be making a video on it.

Should try FSRecorder, it's much better than stock MS flight recorder.

@CJCA915, this was done with FSRecorder. Complex animations run through SimConnect with end end coding often do not run in playback mode. It makes it harder to film this way. We decided it was more important to have a cinematic feel than to have perfect animations. Aerosoft seems to agree as they accepted the video as is.

And the other problem with FSRecorder and the PMDG MD11 in repaly is the missing middel maingear. ;-) I had this problem a few times too.

Oh, despite being able to play FSX now, with my new computer, I am still sticking with FS2004, because I have more add-ons for it, etc.

Why would he put ai traffic in it? This vid is showing the pmdg md-11!! He played it as traffic with traffic playback... And thats why you don't see the wingflex!

@pilotjanmanpeterpan, it doesn't matter whether or not you play as traffic. Often times advanced animations are not capable of being shown with FSRecorder. This is an issue we run into with EVERY PMDG aircraft, among other planes by other developers. It drastically increases the time it takes to film these.

Well, to get the rudder to move using PMDG 747, in the FS2004 version, you just turn auto rudder off, and voila.
