Wtf the main boss for be fucking shoots out fire balls. Whenever I get to close he just rains them down on me an fucking kills me. Ive tried at least 10 times and havent even come close yet. Any suggestions. (I'm lvl 35 but don't use any magic)

@PENGUlN124 I was level 31 when I did it I had Ebony Armour (exquisite) and the Dragonbane (epic) damage 45 because my one-handed level is high 70ish. So get good armour and use a weapon you use the most for highest damage. Also I had a NPC with me (Housecarl/Friend) that way the guy attacks him instead. I died once on this he's not really that bad just make sure you have lots of health potions and poison your weapons for good measure.

@Captainclown77 How am I a nerd? Because I put hours upon hours into a game that I enjoy?. Also, I was able to achieve level 40 so early in the game due to all the quests I did before I came across this one in particular. Skyrim is full of challenging quests, and even more challenging monsters..if you focus on the basic of the game which is building a character that suits your skills you can overcome these challenges. So next time you call me a nerd, back up your claim.

@MisterPurpleKush I use magic mainly because it's a really strong long range attack if you have the right spells and it only takes one hand rather than a bow.

i found out how to kill with the wolf,ok so with the xbox it's the button that u use the sheild and with the button when you hit the man he goes fling so if you keep doing that he can't use his mage just swing at him fast and he will go fling from your hit i hope this helps i just got it done in 5:00 int he morning i havn't slept i'm so loving this game

I was also level 40 upon completing this quest, it was quite easy actually..especially since I have full Daedric (Legendary) including 100 sneak, and high archery. Haha, Hamlynn provided no trouble at all.

My Skyrim is so f***ed up I didn't get this quest even though I've completed "Loud and Clear." This is bullshit... Bethesda needs to patch this. Along with the Companions' Werewolf Totem quest. Neither of them work for me. AND it's on Xbox so I have no idea on what to do.

the quest is easier if you get a companion to fight with you. I also have Barbas with me so Hamelyn shouldnt be a problem seeing how barbas is immortal

For everybody having trouble with the mage, spam with your best destruction spell with 2 hands (also a nice conjuration pet will be nice), then when u run it get a great sword and do the full unrelenting shout (FUS RO DAH BITCHES) and use a lot of stamina to hit him on the floor.

i noobed this just get close to him with a lessar world or know him down with unrelenting force then poison your wapon to paralyze him over and over again till you get him

Hamlyn wasn't hard at all. Kill off the skeevers and run as far back as you can and hide from him. Once you are hidden wait until he goes back to his position. Set up the bear traps and sneak up on him. Use the frostbite poison to sneak attack him (A bow is prefered, giving you distance from his spells). Back track (sprint) to the area with the bear traps. Hope over them and hunker down near the door just before the first bear trap. Ready an arrow and hide in the shadows. @Lvl 8 took 2 shots.

guys ive completed Loud and Clear the quest be4 this one but brynjolf didt give me dampened spirits and now, when i try to talk to him he just says "im busy". help pls?

@MrGuy7272 yeah the same thing happened to me. Most say it's cuz you broke into the honningbrew meadery before you started the quest, which bugs it out. There's currently no fix for it.

after i tried like 30 times to kill that damn mage i lowered the difficulty did it. then after put my difficulty back up went into the meadery and its froze.... I WAS PIST

The mage wasn't that hard.. I killed him when I was like lvl 17 and I did it on adept difficaulty, if that mage is too hard for youse i suggest lowering your difficulty for him then after u kill him u go go back to your normal difficulty.l I am a conjurer so I basically summoned my frost atronach to do my dirty work :p

Btw for those of you who don't use magic, check out the Drainspell Bow, it absorbs 15 points of magika per hit.

IMO theives are the best "class" in skyrim, I sneaked up to him with my elven dagger and with the 15x dagger damage while sneaking perk I 1 hit him
