In fact, New Rose was sung by Duff, not Axl on "The Spaghetti Incident?" album. Although I'm a big fan of Hide (not a fan of X Japan, though) as well as GN'R & Hide did a decent job, I still prefer GN'R/Duff version. Duff's vocal & Slash's guitar is much more in-your-face & tough. Original version by The Damned is also awesome, of course.

Lol While you may be correct about hide being better than GnR, though my opinion on that band is biased by how much I simply don't like them at all, The Damned were actually a very good band and though hide covered this song well, an original is usually better, and in this case it is. Though that is opinion.

Thank you for getting it right vidjunkie, a lot of people think he covered Guns and Roses because they covered it too. It's kind of ironic because hide's verion sounds a lot more like the original than the Guns and Roses version.
