  • hi,

I use this app for my iPod touch 4g. Since the 4g has a built-in mic like the iphone, shouldn't i be able to use it for a stethoscope?

Whenever I press the iPod's mic to my chest, I get a lot of feedback (i.e squealing) and cant hear anything else.

  • @freefallingmonkey If you're getting feedback then the microphone is picking up its own sound. Use good quality headphones and keep them away from the microphone and you should get no feedback.

  • ohhh my good...he's ken shirooooooooooooooo

  • What about women? :-)

  • The app samples sound from the microphone. To make it work on any device without a microphone, you need to plug in a microphone, e.g. the iphone headphones with inline microphone. For best results, use an iPhone.

  • Is this in your hand a iphone or a ipod touch?

  • The app uses a microphone so you must use an iPhone. If you want to use an iPod Touch you need an external microphone.

  • Yes you can hear breath sounds using "Clear Sound" mode or by altering the filter settings in other modes. For better results you can connect your old stethoscope to the iphone - ridrx now make an iPhone connector designed specifically for use with the app.
