SquareEnix ppl r a bunch of FF fans that don't know what a good game is. And they r just as bad as UMG and Sony bitching about ppl making literal music videos (lyrics that match the video) on YouTube. What a bunch greedy whiny little girls these ppl make.
@3DSCat unfortunately no. square enix sent a Cease and Desist order to the creators along with another C&D to a fan project entitled Chrono Trigger Remake project. Chrono Resurrection was just a remake of ten famous scenes from the original game while the other game was a full scale 3-d remake.
Chrono: ummm -looks at opening video in anime style, back at zombor(psx, snes,ds style), back at the video, back at zombor- it kinda looks less epic in the game
wish your project and square enix would have reached an understanding, i knew it, rick astley song was based on robo's theme, i mean enix never made their own games, they just used other companies to make them, this lawsuit has square written all around it, enix would have allowed it and also pay u
@tssf Oh how I wish this project would have been allowed to come to fruition..... And your remakes of the original Chrono Trigger songs are nothing short of amazing, tssf!
Wow, Its so sad that A) This was shut down and B) a Blizzard type solution wasn't given (much how like the World of Starcraft guy, got to continue his work and was offered a job at the actual video game studio)
Whenever I remember this project, my hate for squeenix is renewed. Shitty company with shitty games. Only good things are the remakes of old games, but even those are crap - CT on the DS? I don't wanna pay full price for the 3rd time to get the exact same game, thank you very much!
@qazzy All they gotta do is remake it with better graphics/interface right? I doubt they would change the story line and totally mess it up. I mean the reason why it's a remake is to fix old bugs and touch up on the content stuff, not make a sequel :p

Hi tssf. I have a question for you (not sure if you've already been asked this before). Did Square-Enix just plain send a C&D order? Or did your group have any opportunity to discuss possible alternatives with them? For something so wonderful, I would have loved to see SE take it under their wing, by either licensing the property to you or purchasing the project and hiring your talents to make it a full-fledged first-party release. Did SE even consider these actions?
so much talent.. so much wasted time.. You guys are amazing and I feel your pain that you never got to release this out of fear of Square suing you, but legally you're entitled to post this work and it would fail in court due to the fact you're not trying to make a profit off of it. You never rom hacked, you created everything from scratch. If they're going to give cease and desist orders why not give one to every Chrono Trigger Fanfiction in existance?
Serious. Between this absolute dick move (legal right =/= good idea) and how god awful Final Fantasy games have been in the last half decade, I do believe Square has seen the last of my money.
they can send out a c&d order and persue a court case but it would be thrown out since they're not making profit off of it but square knows that the small guys can't front the court cost so instead of fight it they just toss out the project to save themselves from going in debt.
I wholeheartedly agree, and I sent an earnest letter to Square-Enix suggesting exactly that. I'm sure many other people have too, but I figure it can't hurt to try, neh? This was one project that really deserved to succeed, and it would have been incredible as an actual Square-Enix product.
These are incredibly talented people. It absolutely HURTS to see Square-Enix just shoot it down without considering alternatives.
Well square is kinda dead to me now. FF14 is an online. i never liked online via FF11. and they are coming out os soon with FF13 after ff12. they arent even taking there time and giving US time to cherish any of these games. since technology is advanced they think the more they get out the more they make, its like its not about the art and beauty anymore. for square its now the money and the most games on the market,
No arguments from me there. The more people I talk to (many of whom are big fans of the earlier FF games and Chrono Trigger), the more I keep hearing the same theme: Everyone's just doing cheap remakes and revisiting old themes, and there's very little originality these days.
Ironically, some of these folks counted that as a strike against Resurrection, but I would hardly call it a "cheap" remake at all.
yeah FFX-2 is when it started going downhill, it was decent, but not up to standards. Some of the story was good, some shit. And very little of the nice graphic clips. Square enix used to be so classic, its now just trying to make money. they are only remembered for the early games, the new ones wont be nearly as precious,.
I think the point at which they started going downhill is a subjective thing. I liked FFX until it just got ridiculous, and I know plenty of people who'd argue that the decline started with FF8 or FF9. (Though I also know a number of people who liked FF8, and a few who liked FF9, so mileage obviously varies.)
I argue that ff7 is the first game to bring games to being mainstream.
I thought ff7 was not bad but i didn't enjoy it as much as ff6.
I didn't find any of the characters very interesting and in the end i hated cloud more than sephiroth, then again i never liked sephiroth either.
In ff8,what i found was that i actually liked squall, the thing about squall i find is that he is a very serious person and takes things very seriously and doesn't fool around.
The engine was built from the ground up by Nathan Lazur. No engine was made before this, so everything the game could do was built for this demo. It was mostly used for a learning experience which is why we did it all, that and for portfolio. We wanted to make something that screamed "Chrono Trigger is AWESOME" and wanted to praise the original creators for such an awesome game.
Now while I understand the reasoning behind square's cancelling, I think it was a bad move on their part. I would've liked to see this bought by square and sold for profit. The team was small and unpaid to begin with and they had a rather large following that would've gladly payed to play this. Just looks like one hell of an easy moneymaker for Square.
As an aspiring 3D artist I can appreciate what square did, SE was planning on releasing Chronno for DS and with CR released it would have been hard to make money on the DS version, they were protecting profits. Though I really wish the resurrection team could have released the game proxied, torrented, and anonymously making tracing the origins next to impossible as a big "FUCK YOU" to the corporate media giants. The Game industry really needs a revolution, horrible games being released today.
The trailer and the project were canceled long before the DS was released. This is back in the beginning of 2004 that this happened, the DS came out near the end of 2004. It was all a matter of copyright.
Besides the CR project was probably a major factor in getting Chrono Trigger rereleased on the DS in general, so we feel proud aboud achieving at least that.
JEEZ, I just realized... you worked on the project, now I feel pretty dim, I also checked your portfolio.. Uhmm, do you mind if I send you an e-mail here.. A few questions about the video game industry and similar things.
Unfortunately I'm the only team member who's not in the gaming industry, however I'm trying and will hopefully be there soon. You may want to get in contact with zeenbor (Nathan from the team) if yo uhave questions about the gaming industry and such. You can still contact me and I will answer as many questions as you need though.
I was wondering, how did you start with making music? I'm interested in it and I want to make something like Chrono Trigger RE too, but another game. I'm now learning C++, but I was just wondering how you started with making your own custom songs. =3
mind me saying but how mathematically inclined are you. Game Development projects are very heavy mathematical advanced programs. I'd highly recommend aiming low before going to something like this type of design. Start 2d before even touching the 3rd dimension without matrix knowledge and a graphics background it can be quite hard. I've been programming in 7 languages and haven't made that leap in my game development business yet to 3d :P. Just keep practice and an algorithm toolbox ready :)
Thanks, I'm really looking forward at making a fully 3D game, but I know that is harder. I'm designing some games with some of my riends for Flash (yes, I'm also learning how to use Flash). We are still thinking of simple 2D games. But we're sure to make some great games once we have the experiene. I really don't know much about making games with C++, but I did not know I would need mathematic ( :'-( ) experience to make one.
Of course they are mathematical applications. Hence why most game systems induce parallel computing typically (which is specifically to use number crunching ability). All to my knowledge 3d programming requires knowledge of matrices and drawing in the 3-space using them since it is a projection function. A good basis in vector knowledge and a good background in computer science and you'd be set. Games aren't as easy as they seem to make. It took me 7 years on my own to make a good one w/o
Man, I just about lost it when Rick Roll came out, perfect.
Really incredible stuff; great to see such care taken to preserve at least the original "Feel", while still doing something very original yourself. Great Job.
Probably not for a while, if at all. To be honest, there's not much else to show about Chrono Resurrection other than some misconceptions some people had..that's all that was planned, to correct people about their misinformation. But otherwise, there's no new footage..everything yoiu've seen here and with Nathan's playthrough is all the demo contained.
You did mention at the end of your video that you'd reveal "the truth" behind the project being shut down. I'm curious as to if this has been written up anywhere - I'm probably just as guilty as anyone of misunderstanding what happened.
Well there isn't much to this truth, that no one doesn't already know. I just wanted to clear up some confusion amongst the community. I haven't had time to go into an Episode 3.. Maybe if i get a week or two of being VERY bored, I could..but I'm doing 60-70 hour work weeks to move away.
=D so have you guys completed it for yourself or is it still a beta?
a game like that is something worth cherishing and not the very least the fact that you guys actually created it. it's something you should be proud of
I take it that program with the Beige-ish (dunno what to call the color) background is an older one? I mean from what I've seen it's the one you made the CT64 music in. Also, I'm kinda intrigued about CT64. How far into production did that one get?
You made this shit? Wow, you are an awesome producer man, much respect! I would love to know more about your involvement with this sadly destroyed project that CT fans will never forgive square for. Thank you.
wouldnt it be cool if somehow *cough* this got stolen :O and appeared SUDDENLY on bittorent downloads or on Limewire by some odd counsidence? =)
i wud definatly love to play this game...man if square had any brains they'ed buy this from the makers and port it to some counsle or portable gaming system. Complaining wont get it back up again...i think the feedbak from this inspired square2do the DS ver. still sux.
And so the future refused to change cuz Square-Enix broke everyones hearts...
what the heck is Crono Trigger 64? a demo version or something before the final version? Also whats that purple/orange screen playing all the inferior sounding music is it like a hack in the Ps game to hear the beats like the BS satelite version of the CT snes game(Japan only) that let u hear the music library?(its in emurussia web site if u want it just down the rom + emulator if u dont have one it only works on certain ver of zsnes)
ALSO RECOMEND BS-FZERO AWSOME GRAPHICS FOR A CLASSIC!
Chrono Trigger 64 was the N64 version from early 2000's tht never got off the ground. There's no ROM for it, it was nothing more than a Chrono Trigger themed XM player that played back these MODs.. Nathan had things put together but lost it all in a hard drive crash. So, when we took on the new project everything was re-designed from the ground up.
Forgive me for not being audio-savvy, but what is Cake Walk? You seem to talk about it once or twice. Also why is it so hard to make Boss Battle 2 with it?
Cakewalk is a professional audio suite. At the time I made this soundtrack, it wasn't easy and it was a very tedious task to remake the Boss Battle music as accurate as I tried to make it, without a retrigger function that other DAW softwares use.
That and back in the day I didn't have that much RAM so it made things worse too.
Well, I'm certainly glad you gave the effort. I'm awfully surprised how good this soundtrack is. Heh, reading off your reply to
sihTdaeRtnaCuoY's message, you're taking school. I wonder why? You seem good enough at it. Oh well, that's just speculation. Can't wait for part three. Also can't wait for the DS port. Man I sure talk a lot. Feel free not to answer my questions. Have a great day.
I learned a lot of stuff at the school. I never knew how to use Pro Tools and always wanted to. It's the industry standard. I'm also technically an Audio Engineer for real now, not just on the side. I have a diploma to show for it! Hehe.
I don't know if Part 3 will ever show it's face. I'm so busy trying to build my career.. To be honest all it did was clear up some misconceptions people had about the project. It's not a big deal to be honest...
Well you know, some of us hardcore RPG fans who thought the mid-90's was the golden age of gaming and were truly interested in such a fantastic project (Such as myself) would scream and toss your our babies for any excuse to gobble up any more information to what is debatably the best console RPG of all time. Just tossing that out there. Tum te tum.... Okay I just snapped. PLEASE FINISH IT. I'll be your best friend! Come on, don't be a buzzkill, Matt!, Nah, you do what you want.
I'm at the end of my school year with exams, essays and other things on my mind. I haven't been able to work on it.
Episode 3 will just be a "truths" episode where I ask Nathan a bunch of questions to clear up some ignorance and our thoughts of CT for the DS, etc. It will come out, just don't expect it for the next few weeks as I'm taking care of what's important first.
You've done an amazing job with all of this. I'm surprised there aren't more views for these videos, this is seriously a youtube gem for any chrono trigger fan.
Are you going to put this musics of your authorship available for download? I'm a great(recent) fan of yours and I am really surprized by the high quality of your musics. Even though they are remixes, we can see by these videos that you are/were giving a real big effort in these musics, that you really care about what you are doing. Please, would you put them avaiable to download, at least the ones that are finished?
BTW, I'm a fairly musical person myself, and I just want you to know that your version of Corridors of Time is my all time most listened to track on my iTunes (no joke) and I've played it for probably hundreds of people :D Keep it up, hope to see a response to this!
Hey Mathew! Just found your youtube account through your old website and saw that you might actually see this comment! Just want to say, I LOVE you version of the CT music and I followed the CT resurrection project from WAY back in the day (like year 2000) and I have all your music from the website.
I'll be honest though, it sure seems like I'm hearing a lot of music in these "The Music" episodes that aren't on your website. Where can I get some more of your CT music?
Gah...I NEED that demo! :( If only it could be released...
tssf, your music and videos are fantastic! The way you've interpretated the music...I haven't heard anything quite like it.
Oh, and you had me in stitches with the Rick Astley bit...XD For the hundreds of times I've been rick rolled, I never noticed the similarities between the two songs, which is saying quite a bit on my part since Robo's Theme is one of my favorite CT songs. =P
It's great to see yet even more of CTR gameplay. The first video ended after the first fight. Thanks for that.
And as always, your prowess is simply amazing. I have Lucca's theme as my cell's ringer... though after hearing your version, I'm going to use it instead.
Btw, as a personal note... I really loved your version of Robo's theme.
Anyway, thanks for showing the extra video content in addition to your music.
TSSF, I absolutely love your artistic impression onto the Chrono Music I'd love to hear a complete OST from Trigger/Cross, but I doubt that would happen. You ROCK

You guys are amazing and I feel your pain that you never got to release this out of fear of Square suing you, but legally you're entitled to post this work and it would fail in court due to the fact you're not trying to make a profit off of it. You never rom hacked, you created everything from scratch. If they're going to give cease and desist orders why not give one to every Chrono Trigger Fanfiction in existance?
eyesofnova 2 years ago 3
Serious. Between this absolute dick move (legal right =/= good idea) and how god awful Final Fantasy games have been in the last half decade, I do believe Square has seen the last of my money.
elfinfluff 2 years ago 3
I haven't played a final fantasy since FFIX, or a square game for that instance.
eyesofnova 2 years ago 2
Wait...REALLY? :DD
But then wouldn't them sending out the c&d be illegal on their part? Because these guys weren't trying to make any profit...right?
RDX12606 2 years ago
they can send out a c&d order and persue a court case but it would be thrown out since they're not making profit off of it but square knows that the small guys can't front the court cost so instead of fight it they just toss out the project to save themselves from going in debt.
eyesofnova 2 years ago 2
I think square should fucking buy it from them, it has all their signatures and god i would ask the team who made this to work with square!!
xLiviaxLollerzx 2 years ago
ahh but that would require square to grow a brain and thats like asking for a diamond tree
eyesofnova 2 years ago 3
I wholeheartedly agree, and I sent an earnest letter to Square-Enix suggesting exactly that. I'm sure many other people have too, but I figure it can't hurt to try, neh? This was one project that really deserved to succeed, and it would have been incredible as an actual Square-Enix product.
These are incredibly talented people. It absolutely HURTS to see Square-Enix just shoot it down without considering alternatives.
KieferSkunk 2 years ago
Well square is kinda dead to me now. FF14 is an online. i never liked online via FF11. and they are coming out os soon with FF13 after ff12. they arent even taking there time and giving US time to cherish any of these games. since technology is advanced they think the more they get out the more they make, its like its not about the art and beauty anymore. for square its now the money and the most games on the market,
xLiviaxLollerzx 2 years ago
No arguments from me there. The more people I talk to (many of whom are big fans of the earlier FF games and Chrono Trigger), the more I keep hearing the same theme: Everyone's just doing cheap remakes and revisiting old themes, and there's very little originality these days.
Ironically, some of these folks counted that as a strike against Resurrection, but I would hardly call it a "cheap" remake at all.
KieferSkunk 2 years ago
yeah FFX-2 is when it started going downhill, it was decent, but not up to standards. Some of the story was good, some shit. And very little of the nice graphic clips. Square enix used to be so classic, its now just trying to make money. they are only remembered for the early games, the new ones wont be nearly as precious,.
xLiviaxLollerzx 2 years ago
I think the point at which they started going downhill is a subjective thing. I liked FFX until it just got ridiculous, and I know plenty of people who'd argue that the decline started with FF8 or FF9. (Though I also know a number of people who liked FF8, and a few who liked FF9, so mileage obviously varies.)
KieferSkunk 2 years ago
I argue that ff7 is the first game to bring games to being mainstream.
I thought ff7 was not bad but i didn't enjoy it as much as ff6.
I didn't find any of the characters very interesting and in the end i hated cloud more than sephiroth, then again i never liked sephiroth either.
In ff8,what i found was that i actually liked squall, the thing about squall i find is that he is a very serious person and takes things very seriously and doesn't fool around.
He doesn't like the games seifer plays.
piromaniac9999 2 years ago
What engine were you guys running CR in?
DAJ01 2 years ago
The engine was built from the ground up by Nathan Lazur. No engine was made before this, so everything the game could do was built for this demo. It was mostly used for a learning experience which is why we did it all, that and for portfolio. We wanted to make something that screamed "Chrono Trigger is AWESOME" and wanted to praise the original creators for such an awesome game.
We all know how that turned out. ;)

Sniff, this is beautiful
dapple33 2 years ago
Now while I understand the reasoning behind square's cancelling, I think it was a bad move on their part. I would've liked to see this bought by square and sold for profit. The team was small and unpaid to begin with and they had a rather large following that would've gladly payed to play this. Just looks like one hell of an easy moneymaker for Square.
confusedbanatt 2 years ago
Damn, Fuck you Square, why did they cancel this. It wasn't even the full game, it was going to be a tech demo.
00Kirby0 2 years ago
As an aspiring 3D artist I can appreciate what square did, SE was planning on releasing Chronno for DS and with CR released it would have been hard to make money on the DS version, they were protecting profits. Though I really wish the resurrection team could have released the game proxied, torrented, and anonymously making tracing the origins next to impossible as a big "FUCK YOU" to the corporate media giants. The Game industry really needs a revolution, horrible games being released today.
Pwnzistor 2 years ago
The trailer and the project were canceled long before the DS was released. This is back in the beginning of 2004 that this happened, the DS came out near the end of 2004. It was all a matter of copyright.
Besides the CR project was probably a major factor in getting Chrono Trigger rereleased on the DS in general, so we feel proud aboud achieving at least that.
tssf 2 years ago
JEEZ, I just realized... you worked on the project, now I feel pretty dim, I also checked your portfolio.. Uhmm, do you mind if I send you an e-mail here.. A few questions about the video game industry and similar things.
Pwnzistor 2 years ago
Unfortunately I'm the only team member who's not in the gaming industry, however I'm trying and will hopefully be there soon. You may want to get in contact with zeenbor (Nathan from the team) if yo uhave questions about the gaming industry and such. You can still contact me and I will answer as many questions as you need though.

Were you going to consider working on some of the tracks from the DS version? I personally would love to hear your version of "Singing Mountain"
Ichigoikane 3 years ago
I was wondering, how did you start with making music? I'm interested in it and I want to make something like Chrono Trigger RE too, but another game. I'm now learning C++, but I was just wondering how you started with making your own custom songs. =3
Hyperfighter3 3 years ago
mind me saying but how mathematically inclined are you.
Entertainmentwf 3 years ago 2
Thanks, I'm really looking forward at making a fully 3D game, but I know that is harder. I'm designing some games with some of my riends for Flash (yes, I'm also learning how to use Flash). We are still thinking of simple 2D games. But we're sure to make some great games once we have the experiene. I really don't know much about making games with C++, but I did not know I would need mathematic ( :'-( ) experience to make one.
Hyperfighter3 3 years ago
Of course they are mathematical applications. Hence why most game systems induce parallel computing typically (which is specifically to use number crunching ability). All to my knowledge 3d programming requires knowledge of matrices and drawing in the 3-space using them since it is a projection function. A good basis in vector knowledge and a good background in computer science and you'd be set. Games aren't as easy as they seem to make. It took me 7 years on my own to make a good one w/o

Really incredible stuff; great to see such care taken to preserve at least the original "Feel", while still doing something very original yourself. Great Job.

so when do we get to see Episode 3?
rokth 3 years ago
Probably not for a while, if at all. To be honest, there's not much else to show about Chrono Resurrection other than some misconceptions some people had..that's all that was planned, to correct people about their misinformation. But otherwise, there's no new footage..everything yoiu've seen here and with Nathan's playthrough is all the demo contained.
tssf 3 years ago
You did mention at the end of your video that you'd reveal "the truth" behind the project being shut down. I'm curious as to if this has been written up anywhere - I'm probably just as guilty as anyone of misunderstanding what happened.
KieferSkunk 2 years ago
Well there isn't much to this truth, that no one doesn't already know. I just wanted to clear up some confusion amongst the community. I haven't had time to go into an Episode 3.. Maybe if i get a week or two of being VERY bored, I could..but I'm doing 60-70 hour work weeks to move away.
tssf 2 years ago
Understood. Still, this was a marvelous work, and I'm really sad to see it never got a public release.
KieferSkunk 2 years ago
=D so have you guys completed it for yourself or is it still a beta?
a game like that is something worth cherishing and not the very least the fact that you guys actually created it. it's something you should be proud of
tarkeke 2 years ago
Is this still being developed? or Square-Enix got pissy and sued the authors.
roberttt1005 3 years ago
We weren't sued.. Nope it's not in development, Square Enix did give us the cease and desist. The team has since moved on with their lives.
tssf 3 years ago
Oh well, that's too bad =(... The game looks amazing, great job :D!!
And well, I suppose it was "nice" to wake up one day and see a Square-Enix mail XDD, I would've felt so important, ahahaha. Seeya!
Oh, ya... could you at least upload the songs? XD they're amazingly well done.

where is downloadable this chrono trigger resurrection version?

tssf 3 years ago
So out of curiosity, will there be a part 3? These things are an absolute joy to listen to and I would really enjoy hearing more, if there is any.
Akerfeldtfan 3 years ago
I take it that program with the Beige-ish (dunno what to call the color) background is an older one? I mean from what I've seen it's the one you made the CT64 music in. Also, I'm kinda intrigued about CT64. How far into production did that one get?
stabslice 3 years ago
CT64 didn't get much past a sound mode with my XM files playing. Nathan didn't do much because he lost his source code due to a hard drive crash.
tssf 3 years ago
You made this shit? Wow, you are an awesome producer man, much respect! I would love to know more about your involvement with this sadly destroyed project that CT fans will never forgive square for. Thank you.
LFiers 3 years ago
wouldnt it be cool if somehow *cough* this got stolen :O and appeared SUDDENLY on bittorent downloads or on Limewire by some odd counsidence? =)
i wud definatly love to play this game...man if square had any brains they'ed buy this from the makers and port it to some counsle or portable gaming system. Complaining wont get it back up again...i think the feedbak from this inspired square2do the DS ver. still sux.
And so the future refused to change cuz Square-Enix broke everyones hearts...

massergiomusica 3 years ago
what the heck is Crono Trigger 64? a demo version or something before the final version? Also whats that purple/orange screen playing all the inferior sounding music is it like a hack in the Ps game to hear the beats like the BS satelite version of the CT snes game(Japan only) that let u hear the music library?(its in emurussia web site if u want it just down the rom + emulator if u dont have one it only works on certain ver of zsnes)
ALSO RECOMEND BS-FZERO AWSOME GRAPHICS FOR A CLASSIC!
massergiomusica 3 years ago
Chrono Trigger 64 was our project before we turned it into Chrono Resurrection. It was CT on N64..
That "organge screen with the inferior" music is actually Impulse Tracker, a software I still use today. It's what CT64's music was created in.
tssf 3 years ago
wait...u guys RE made this on N64 as well on as the COMPUTER????
Wud it be2 rude if i asked for a link to the...N64 rom to play it on...lets say...PJ64??
*Holds breath*
=X
massergiomusica 3 years ago
Chrono Trigger 64 was the N64 version from early 2000's tht never got off the ground. There's no ROM for it, it was nothing more than a Chrono Trigger themed XM player that played back these MODs.. Nathan had things put together but lost it all in a hard drive crash. So, when we took on the new project everything was re-designed from the ground up.
tssf 3 years ago
I wish SE didn't oppose this

So instead of getting an awesome 3d remake, we get Chrono Trigger DS Dx, i suppose it's a fair trade off... no wait, it isn't -
Anyhow I would have loved CR to come out, i kept track of it since... well for the longest time, until the next visit i saw a cease and desist...
The music is awesome, really amazing, i could listen to it all day long...

Forgive me for not being audio-savvy, but what is Cake Walk? You seem to talk about it once or twice. Also why is it so hard to make Boss Battle 2 with it?
stabslice 3 years ago
Cakewalk is a professional audio suite. At the time I made this soundtrack, it wasn't easy and it was a very tedious task to remake the Boss Battle music as accurate as I tried to make it, without a retrigger function that other DAW softwares use.
That and back in the day I didn't have that much RAM so it made things worse too.
tssf 3 years ago
Well, I'm certainly glad you gave the effort. I'm awfully surprised how good this soundtrack is. Heh, reading off your reply to
sihTdaeRtnaCuoY's message, you're taking school. I wonder why? You seem good enough at it. Oh well, that's just speculation. Can't wait for part three. Also can't wait for the DS port. Man I sure talk a lot. Feel free not to answer my questions. Have a great day.
stabslice 3 years ago
I learned a lot of stuff at the school. I never knew how to use Pro Tools and always wanted to. It's the industry standard. I'm also technically an Audio Engineer for real now, not just on the side. I have a diploma to show for it! Hehe.
I don't know if Part 3 will ever show it's face. I'm so busy trying to build my career.. To be honest all it did was clear up some misconceptions people had about the project. It's not a big deal to be honest...
tssf 3 years ago
Well you know, some of us hardcore RPG fans who thought the mid-90's was the golden age of gaming and were truly interested in such a fantastic project (Such as myself) would scream and toss your our babies for any excuse to gobble up any more information to what is debatably the best console RPG of all time. Just tossing that out there. Tum te tum.... Okay I just snapped. PLEASE FINISH IT. I'll be your best friend! Come on, don't be a buzzkill, Matt!, Nah, you do what you want.
stabslice 3 years ago 2
have you applied to Square?
ctube001 3 years ago
Were you joking about an episode 3? I can't find it? is it even out yet? God damn I hope this game gets "stolen" and released to the public some day.
sihTdaeRtnaCuoY 3 years ago
I'm at the end of my school year with exams, essays and other things on my mind. I haven't been able to work on it.
Episode 3 will just be a "truths" episode where I ask Nathan a bunch of questions to clear up some ignorance and our thoughts of CT for the DS, etc. It will come out, just don't expect it for the next few weeks as I'm taking care of what's important first.
tssf 3 years ago
Okay, thanks for responding. Good luck with your exams, and I look forward to episode 3.

I love that song with the merging with Far Away Promise, my opinion one of the most powerful songs to ever touch a video game.

Are you going to put this musics of your authorship available for download? I'm a great(recent) fan of yours and I am really surprized by the high quality of your musics. I never knew Zombor was a ninja. He just pops up when you least expect it!
Weapons? Who needs weapons?! I'd be too busy jamming out to Frog's theme to fight anyway.
Chrono Trigger's "Boss Battle 2" is pretty much my favorite fight music in any game. Ever. Awesome remix.
Loved both Title/Pendulum music. My favorite part of the CT/CC intros was given its own stage in yours.

Daryus99 3 years ago
Hmm.. I like Schala's theme as the menu music way better. It sounds more fitting, IMO.

RedlandsmaN87 3 years ago
Honestly, the demo isn't much more than what you've seen here.
The playthrough that Nathan showed and the battle sequences that I'm showing here, there's really nothing much more than that.
The only thing is you'd see everything in high res lol. Other than that, that's it.
The demo doesn't even have the Sound Effects that I edited in.. it's very silent.
tssf 3 years ago
It's great to see yet even more of CTR gameplay. The first video ended after the first fight. Thanks for that.
And as always, your prowess is simply amazing. I have Lucca's theme as my cell's ringer... though after hearing your version, I'm going to use it instead.
Btw, as a personal note... I really loved your version of Robo's theme.
Anyway, thanks for showing the extra video content in addition to your music.
