It's really quite simple. I've watched alot of National Anthem performances. I like to hear how different artists sing it. They're all good to some degree or another but in my opinion Carrie's is the best. She doesnt change anything, she doesnt play with the tempo or extend notes that dont need to be. She just sings the song as written, and with her voice, it's an epic experience, especially if you're one of the people lucky enough to see it live.

The worst person to sing this is Christina Aguilera....Xtina has the power to sing it and can sing it well...but the vocalizing drives me up the wall!!! why can't she just sing the damn song properly without all the runs and riffs and up-an-down- voice crap... geez...and that finger waving Xtina does is sooo annoying..I can't stand hearing Xtina sing it..I really can't. Carrie does an awesome rendition of this. :))

The words are more powerful than what anyone could add to it.

@b1gw4yn3 that's what i loved about her rendition, now show off no divaness, she showed off her voice in the this song b/c it's not easy to sing. thats why so many stylize it so they can sing it. but singers who can rlly sing need to not stylize this song. I mean when i watch them stylize it, i'm like show some respect, this was not the way it was meant to be sung. carrie's though, now that was how it should be sung.

It's really quite simple. I've watched alot of National Anthem performances. I like to hear how different artists sing it. They're all good to some degree or another but in my opinion Carrie's is the best. She doesnt change anything, she doesnt play with the tempo or extend notes that dont need to be. She just sings the song as written, and with her voice, it's an epic experience, especially if you're one of the people lucky enough to see it live.
