  • What's a micrwivayoven transformer. lol

  • @aptsys A transformer removed from a microwave oven...

  • @aptsys that transformer is a ballast, it isnt on

  • 1:20 What causes the arc to go like this?

  • @SoNDgs High continuous current within the arc.

  • what would happpen if you put a sheet of paper in between ?

  • What is the difference between the two arcs?

  • now u can tazer someone!!!

  • That looks like two pieces of white thread blowing in the wind, very beautiful and strange at the same time. Do you have any footage of you blowing up your sisters bedroom door with your tennis ball cannon, i wanna see that.

  • Very cool !

  • 300 mA at 140 kV is 42 kW. How can a core this small handle anything near that at 60 Hz?

  • @furchina I am not sure, it may be gapped.

I know the duty cycle is only a few seconds at that current.

  • Looks like plasma , am i right?

Did plasma speaker for school project but the gap was like 3 cm

  • i wonder if you could draw the awesome face with some magnets nearby.... :D

  • that is one nasty ass bit of gear

  • That is gorgeous.

  • NST's can kiss this thing's ass!

  • Ouch.

  • very interesting, but doesn't the plasma emit some xrays? dont get yourself irradiated!

  • @TechState Nonsense.

  • @TechState Must look like you just stepped off a jet from Miami.

  • Imagine the torture you could bring to little electronics with that beast!

  • What's the difference in voltage between when there are a bunch of skinny purple beams and it's really loud and crackling, and the two soft white beams which are relatively quiet? ?

  • @Grundalizer The voltage is highest when it is producing those multiple sparks. Technically maximum voltage occurs the instant before a spark forms. The continuous electric arc draws the most current but since it is continuous the voltage drops across the arc.

  • cool, that little blue generator looks quite familiar...

now lets see it run un-ballasted lol

  • Now thats my kind of Transformer!, I have got to get me one of those!

  • I think that would make a nice jacob's ladder^^

How much does that thing weigh? 70kg?

  • @IncoherentRussian It weights approximately 36kg dry, so probably around 50kilos with the oil?

  • that's a beast. I wish i understood electronics as well as you..

  • that is zeus in a box!
