@mrspaz135 Jason is a touring member of Green Day. Billie, Mike and Tre write the stuff. Jason is there so they can have a better stage show

@BADrysdale I think they use him for some recording too. I am not 100% sure but I heard it somewhere. Billie said he likes to have everyone in the studio during the recording process if I recall correctly.

Of course Billie Joe gives Jason sheet music and teaches him chords, how else is he going to learn their music when he plays it up on stage? It's like saying that Billie Joe is better than Synyster Gates and Jimi Hendrix just because Billie Joe needs to teach them his songs before they play them infront of millions of people. Jason's a more natural guitarist, full stop.

@TheSethBoom because he's just a touring guitarist. he doesn't play in the records. So all the guitar parts in green day's records are played by billie joe. Jason just plays the lead parts live

I was there...this was a secret show, before the album was even released, April 14, 2009. No one in the crowd had ever heard the music before. They played the entire album from start to finish. I was on the floor right in front of Jason White. It was awesome.
