I am only replying to the question that was asked. We Brits are weird, surely you get that by now, just like we think that eating cold meat for breakfast is weird, but you do it, right?

I think sausage is cold meat. But yes, some people here actually do. Nobody that I personally know, but some like it. It's purely a matter of taste. I suppose most of us prefer buns (or babs?) with butter and jam. And we drink coffee or tea for breakfast. But coffee is more popular here. That's why we have coffeetime instead of teatime. Black pudding is very popular here too, but not for breakfast. But that's all stereotyped.

The whole idea of an English breakfast is that all the food is cooked and eaten whilst hot, we rarely eat cold meats except on sandwiches. It's traditional to send people off to work for a full day with a warm meal inside them to keep them sustained for the day. The baps (bread buns) are rarely eaten for breakfast in England. We prefer jam (or marmalade as Geriatric1927 likes) on toasted sliced bread. Most people eat serial(cornflakes,etc) for breakfast and have a cooked breakfast as a change.
