Thank goodness the TV networks constantly run movies like Jaws & its sequels. This is the only way to know the truth, since the tree-hugging liberal element has gotten the kids so animal-crazy that they'll believe almost anything. Like I said before, you're NEVER going to convince ANYONE that a huge brutal looking meat eating fish with a mouthfull of razor sharp serrated teeth is just a misunderstood creature. You’ll have an easier time convincing the masses that homosexuality is normal & good.
Gidday Pip. I didn't know who you were when you were standing near me at the Earthrace Rally on Tue Feb 14. I was also filming the rally for us "dingo" people.
I just have to say I was blown away by this film.
I did my 1st dive at Julian Rocks Byron Bay many years ago, had a few dives off Maroochydore but not much since. Dingoes got into my blood like sharks have got into yours.
PLEASE SEND YOUR LETTERS TO STOP LEGAL SHARK FISHING INSIDE THE GBR, it doesnt matter who you are... we need as many as possible visit elements5.blogspot.com or facebook 'great barrier resistance'
@Impactoftreason these sharks are brought to the area by us, its very hard to find them in natural state, as their numbers are few, and they remain cautious of humans.
Posted this video on on my FB page and written to the e mail addresses you provided. I hope this barbaric act ends soon. I still don't think I would have the gutts to go close to a shark but I love all animals all the same. I wonder how long it will take for the human race to treat other creatures with respect and love and be unselfish.
@buildguykevin one creature with so much power, is certainly scary, the worst thing is most people dont even know how much of an impact we are. its up to the 12% who care to show them. :)
I love sharks, although I'm scared of them and the ocean in general, but to say that the population of sharks is endangered may be a slight over exaggeration as 85% of the earths ocean depths are unexplored, who knows what lurks down there, there could be a lot more of them!
But I completely agree that they need to ban the hunting of and finning of sharks, its a horrible way for the poor creatures to die, and its so ethically wrong.
@beautytherapyful hey, thanks! unfortunately, its not an exaggeration, as we know the oceans now, our technology leaves nothing to hide, and most of that area of the ocean is un-liveable. I can assure you after a few encounters that fear would disappear :) but the fact you are on there side and still have that fear says allot about you! and finning isnt all, the legal fishing is still eliminating a struggling species, but hopefully people will start to fight back soon! thanks!
@elements5pip hey, this video inspired me to get my diving license and i wanna see first hand how these creatures are. i have always been fond of sharks. any suggestions where in the uk or aussie i could swim with them?
@Impactoftreason hey! thats great, aussie, anywhere really, if your keen to find some really good places, outter coral sea. Uk, i am unsure, but your best bet is somewhere like the bahamas that can take any level of skill diver on some serious shark action dies :)
I love sharks and I hate that people are killing them :( <3 But Im still scared of them and have been since I was 3 and looked at a shark book with scary pictures...
@rebeckacool haha that would probably change if you got to go in the water with them, you would be amazed how they are around people if you saw them for yourself :)
Thank you Madi, you are an inspiartion on this planet...We have the greatest admiration for you and what you do...Your movies are very emotional, charged with a powerful message. Can't wait to see a full feature film to rival jaws and help human's get over their collective fear of sharks..Then we came move forward without fear and stop this cruelty. I can't beleive this place Australia, uranium mining in our national parks and now fishing in the GBR marine park. Shame on you Peter Garret.
@greentreepixie thank you. and yes- im not happy to be aussie right now! but things will change, we just need to spark the passion in the people to fight for that change! thank you :)
"Don´t let them be taken from us"... I think that this plea must be also our plea, I will show yours video here in the diving and in all the place and to all the people that I can. Thanks for your job Madison, i think that your words and your attitude explain very well the problem, and I agree with you, we have to fight for our family, for the shark and all the other submarine friends that we have and we love!
@TerraceYouth In response to your comment "Dirty little feminized liar," Being that the majority of what she says is scientifically backed, and none of it remotely refers to women's roles or views being subverted to a masculine description of those views I can only hope you have evidence that madi pee'd in her wetsuit or something to fulfill the 'dirty' insinuation. As she is willingly swimming with sharks in quite warm water I find this doubtful, so again, you are an unsubstantiated idiot :)
Madi; Don't argue with the idiots, theý bring you down to their level and then beat ýou with experience. Terrace Youth obviously has little understanding of ecology, animal behaviour, politics or social philosophy. His/her idea of the social matrix is misguided and fused with the stagnant form of Laisse Faire selfishness but has not considered the extremities of necessity.
He/she might be right in backlash if a shark attack happens, this thought process is only maintained by self honoring idiots
@TerraceYouth You have watched the Mad Max trilogy too many times. I would wager you have forged your opinions based upon movies and television as opposed to real life experiences. Get off your ass and go outside.
@creech79692 Ever hear of New Smyrna Beach in Volusia County, Florida? I lived t here for TWENTY YEARS. So don't tell ME what I know and do not know about the movies.
@arniebarb123 notice there is no chainmail on any feeds other than the caribbean reef shark feeds! were not afraid of getting bit, but when we hand feed three meter reef sharks in front of many customers, we wear chain mail because we are expecting to get bit, when the shark goes for the bait, it 'closes' its eye to protect it, and this blinds them for the last couple of seconds, which means they bite our arm and not the bait by accident. it also helps with the tonic.
This is the most unbelievable thing I've ever seen both beautiful and sad and I wish I could do more! I've sent the video to everyone I know and of course there were few responses. I've always been fascinated with the ocean and the beauty of the things that live there. How else can people help? What is the name of the group you work with? I will tell everyone to vote for FEARLESS, but how else can people get involved? You're wonderful, Madison and know many people are behind you!!!
@Kdubsurf14 Hey, thanks so much for your support. no group, its just me, i have a small facebook page called the 'great barrier resistance' i make my own films and shoot the footage, thank you so much, and that will help allot if fearless wins me some money, i am wondering myself what i can do to help... i think the main thing right now is tell as many people as possible what we know, about the oceans, about the sharks. and stay tuned, i will need some help spreading things soon to expose sharks
@FlamingFergie hey, thanks. unfortunately i have to put that stuff in there, believe me, i want to be making films about sharks and freediving and love with the ocean... but theres little room for that when we need to get the message out :( i hate editing it, watching it agin and again! glad you want to swim with them, you will never see a creature more suited to its environment :)
Respond to this video... its for real buddy... heavy metal, neptunic shark suit. stops bites, because we feed them and they close their eyes in the last few seconds the go for the bait, we occasionally get little unintentional nips, so we wear the chain mail, notice theres none around the tigers. their slow enough to feed safely.
@ozjaybabe THANKYOU! they do need our help, so much, im trying to get people who either hate or a scared of sharks to watch this, and relies a 17 year old filmed it and didnt get 'eaten' ;) cheers!
@elements5pip Sharks are natural born killers. What do you think they've got all of those razor-sharp serrated teeth for? And don't try to hand be this guff about humans not being on the menu. They will eat any living thing that falls into their path. The huge number of world-wide shark attack victims should have told you enough about that. They are killers. They are heartless. And they didn't get that reputation for nothing. They should all be exterminated by the military.
@TerraceYouth your lack of education and severe case of ignorance is amusing...and even if this were true, id take a shark over a conversation with you any day... you remain scared in your cave on your computer... im gonna go change the world now. bye :) feeta!
@TerraceYouth OH... and even if they did kill millions... we are in no position to decide wether or not they live in their ocean! (its an average of 5 deaths worldwide from sharks by the way, maybe know what your talking about before you fight it)
@TerraceYouth Sharks are natural born killers of squid, fish, the occasional seal. Not humans. First of all, rarely are humans killed. Of all the hundreds of millions of water entries (billions, even!), only a handful of people are bitten by sharks, and only a few of those people die. If you are selachiiphobic, just say so. You don't have to kill the sharks. Better yet, stay out of the water and off Youtube. Your comments are insultingly stupid.
@jonser2008 Silly little fool. How stupid do you think the general public is? The reason more people aren't killed is because few go in the water, relatively speaking. Especially where these monsters live & feed. Put more people in the water in those areas & you'll be changing your tune. Bottom line: If you're in their way, you'll be attacked & eaten. But how often do the circumstances allow for this? Tell me, Einstein. And do so without trying to mislead me with your illogical hogwash.
@TerraceYouth Every summer, millions of people swim in the ocean. Occasionally someone is bitten by a shark and it makes headlines. Most swimmers, divers and fishermen are not ever bitten by sharks much less consumed. More swimmers means more shark attacks, like more airplanes means more crashes. Sharks are wild animals. They should be respected. But being in the water with a shark is not a death sentence.
@TerraceYouth "How often do the circumstances allow for this?" you ask. Sharks are always present in the waters that people use for swimming, surfing, boating etc. The sharks may not be seen, but they are there. Yet attacks are very rare. Why? Because people are not part of a sharks natural diet. Most shark bites that do occur, don't result in the loss of flesh. Bite and release. Why? Because we aren't on the menu. Occasionally, people bleed to death, but consumption is very rare.
Sorry, but you're never going to convince the average person that a 3000 pound flesh-eating machine with a mouth full of razor-sharp serrated teeth is somehow a misunderstood creature. :)
@TerraceYouth you ever been in the water with one? and i guess the hundreds of comments and emails from people saying they have changed their minds about sharks in my inbox say otherwise.
@elements5pip LOL...!! Yeah. But just let there be a rash of shark attacks and you'll see how fast all of those people are oddly "out of the water". Because in YOUR eyes, people that get attacked deserved it. You've always got an EXCUSE for this mindless predator’s aggressive behavior. And people are starting to wake up to your kind, too. One bad experience and all of your hard-fought "victories" go straight down the toilet. Right where they belong. Dirty little feminized liar.
@TerraceYouth explain this then, anyone with an education, can still in some cases be scared of sharks, but they know there important, and they dont hate them. ive never met an educated person who thinks they all need to be killed. mindless is the opposite to what they are, i know, ive spent more time with them than you, delt with your kind before troll...
@elements5pip Yeah. Like youve screwed things up so far? Think what’s going to happen to all of your touchie-feelie BULLSHIT just as soon as the worlds population reaches critical mass! All the animals will be eaten. Their habitats plowed over for human development. It’s inevitable! Do you really believe that these other moron people that you’re 'recruiting' are going to stand up & tell the BLACKS in Mother Africa that they can't breed anymore? Right..
@TerraceYouth 5 attacks kill people on average a year, thats not many. if your going to argue something, make sure you actually know what your talking about.
Respond to this video... your not very good at arguing on the internet are you? stay on topic here, i want my sharks back, thats what im fighting for, the human population will kill the planet no doubt, but before that happens, i want to do something with my life... unlike you.
@TerraceYouth im sorry but if you actually think humans are a sharks favourite food, go do some research, and educate yourself, and explain my dives with great whites showing no interest in my flesh, you've got nothing on me and my hundreds of hours around sharks... people are changing, and it is become more clear that sharks are not mindless killers, which is great, because we need to the keep the oceans running.
@elements5pip Sharks & all predators dangerous to man should be wiped out. To begin with, the world really doesn’t need them. And as long as they continue to 'do what they do' (i.e.: be sharks), they will be hated & feared. Of course, the next logical step would be to get the major news networks to CENSOR OUT what doesn't agree with your fucked up theories. Thereby luring a blinded & naive public to their deaths. I mean, it's what you've done with everything else in society. Why stop now?
@TerraceYouth you can say whatever you want ... you have not once shown any slight knowledge of sharks or the ocean ecosystem, these things require education Terrace!
@elements5pip It's simple... the more people that go into the water, they more shark attacks there will be. And when that fact occurs, instead of cringing away in defeat, YOU kooks stand there & say things like..."Well, humans are trespassing into the shark's habitat. Just like they do with every other creature on the planet". Like we're supposed to feel guilty about that! That's the way YOU people deal with the facts. Put more people in the water & you will see what sharks like to eat the most!
@TerraceYouth cringing away in defeat? like its a competition. do you have any respect for human life? put more people on the road, and more people will get killed by cars. so what is your point? you think the decimation of entire species is justified by the average 5 people who loose their lives to sharks... in that sense we should be culling humans so theres less murders!
@TerraceYouth It's simple mathematics that shark accidents rise with the number of people in the water. A fact I found in my studies is tha there never ever was a fatal shark attack which was proven to be the shark's fault. There were always factors created by humans that lead to these accidents like fishers dumping carcasses in the water or swimmers making noises. They simply mistake them for their usual prey and as long as you are not afraid of driving a car you should not bother about sharks.
But wait, lets look at the situation of where the young body boarder was mauled in WA (from memory). You can't say that it was the body boarder's fault? If the shark mistakes a human for a prey then its the sharks fault, because as human's we can't do much else. Yeah okay the water is their domain and we should respect that and them of course.
@phildepas88 Accidents still happen. And there are still plenty of possibilities between "the shark is evil" and "that guy is stupid". Last winter some similar attacks occured in egypt and everyone was really fast at blaming the evil nature of the sharks for it. Only later they found out that the reason were animal carcasses dumped near the beaches by some careless people who were neither affected nor near the accident side when it happened. it isn't always plain and simple
@TerranceYouth Get in the water with a shark or two. Their grace, beauty, intelligence and power will convince you otherwise. Sharks are amazing animals.
If you don't already know him, check out Jim Abernethy Scuba Adventures. He, Wyland, and Guy Harvey just premiered THIS IS YOUR OCEAN: SHARKS. It is sxcellent, let them know about your film.
Great job. I appreciate what you're trying to do for sharks, and for the Bahamas as well. There are a lot of positive things happening here, but still much to be done.
Keep it up, you've got a good talent and good message.
Well done! My partner (Christopher) met you diving with sharks and he told me about you. I think you are doing wonderful things and hope you inspire your whole and future generations to change their views and to conserve the creatures in the sea - not just sharks. You are the future and our generation and previous have
made a mess that is continuing - how do I vote for you?

Great video! I just did a shark dive off Montauk NY. Fantastic! Seeing sharks underwater was one of the high points of my life. I can't wait to do it again. It is clear to me that these animals are not at all mindless; that they in fact possess an intelligence that although alien to us is very real.
Sharks need immediate protection. The loss of sharks is one of the greatest tragedies of our time.
Thank you for such a quick reply. I've downloaded the song, and every time I play it I will think of you and your video. i have shared this with my facebook friends, and have urged them not only to vote for you, but to also share it with their facebook friends... I am really becomming fond of being able to reach out to people, and spread the important work that people like you are doing... I hope it makes a difference! Thank you again!
Fantastic! I hope this wins, and I have been in support of staying out of the water for profit for quite some time. Also, I LOVED the music that accompanied the video... I am a yoga teacher, and would love if you could share with me what the artist is... I'd like to use it in my class. There is a part where I ask the class to dedicate their practice and their energy to someone or something in need. I would love to help with my energy, and maybe other ways as well. THANK YOU!
I always knew that finning is illegal off the coast of Australia yet ships still come close to do it. Many reports have been on television news about this over the years, but what the he'll is the difference between finning and fin fishing? Is there a loophole in the law? There is always some stupid issue in the wording of law. Stop this stupid practice put a piece of lettuce in your frigging soup.
@WhereisMuller yes exactly, not only does it happen illegally in our waters on an incredible scale, but because the body is kept (as a bi product) it is called 'sustainable' but there is no way to fish an already threatened species sustainably! AND were supporting the fin trade and not our tourism industry, government needs to pull their heads out of their butts!
@rorycalhoun27 and btw you might wanna check your facts. the fin adds no flavour to the soup only texture. your really eating chicken or pork broth. genocide for a bit of texture in soup, you people disgust me
Really sad. Sharks are my favourite animal since I was a little kid and I've always dreamed of diving with them. This breaks my heart. Thank you for putting it into a visual that can be easily passed on to educate people. 5stars!!
@MakeDamnSure100 thank you so much, that was the aim but coming from a childhood with sharks it was hard to know how to target people who were scared, getting shark fearing people to watch this is the next aim!! i hope you do get to see them one day if you havn't already...
Is there somewhere I could contact you? I would really like to get in touch with you as I have so many questions to ask you ! I think you are an amazing person. - Victoria
@rorycalhoun27 so your saying that a soldier is a hippy? your not doing yourself any favours by going around and making comments like yours on videos like these so you might wanna stop.
rotycalhoun didnt get enough hugs from mummy- dont mind him guys- hes just scared of sharks and the sea shepherd crew- if i were him i would be too- he will die of mercury poisoning soon :)
My suggestion to you is grow up and meet one face to face but you will probably just sit on youtube and try to sound tough, talking about eating something that you are shit scared of to make you feel like a man.
Btw writer Peter Benchley said that writing jaws was one of the biggest mistakes he has made and regrets it.
He later went on to write two Non-Fiction books on sharks called Shark Trouble
@rorycalhoun27 mate are you seriously that retarded to have your view of sharks made by some crappy horror movie?? my guess is that you have never even seen a real shark in your life. sharks kill 5 people a year on average. less than dogs. we kill 190 a minute. I'm not a hippy mate but im gonna protect these sharks for the rest of my life.
@rorycalhoun27 hippy views? oh are you scared of the sea shepherd crew? i would be if i were you too- untrained vegans who slashed through the international quota VERY successfully! buddy if you ever saw the kind of sharks i have in the ocean, you would piss in your speedos! ive seen things that you couldn't even dream of- ill be fighting for sharks the rest of my life- what will you be doing?
@rorycalhoun27 you think sharks eat people because of jaws! because of a plastic shark? oh my god your a fucking idiot! haha but comparing me to Quenten- such an honour!
@rorycalhoun27 oh my god, thats SO FUNNY, I've never heard that one before- tell you what, go make your own film and get 4 thousand people watching it, and say whatever you want!
@rorycalhoun27 I'm thinking you missed the point of the video... and I don't care how fricken delicious your soup is, their fins are sliced off and then the body (often times still alive) is thrown back into the ocean to bleed to death or drown in their OWN element! you think you're such a funny guy, but you came to the wrong place to make jokes like that.
By the way Madi, love the video! Those sharks are absolutely beautiful. keep up the great work. Oh and I'm jealous as hell that you get to swim with them all the time ;-)
@rorycalhoun27 You think that it's funny? These poor animals die a slow and painful death. Do you realise they are thrown back into the water, still alive after having their fins hacked off? Nothing to joke about!
Fantastic work Madi. Really well put together. I want to help share your message. We have few sharks in cozumel and I wish I could spend more time underwater with them. The slaughter has to stop
Very inspiring. Your video has opened my mind and helped me see sharks in a different way. Gonna post it on fb and try help you get your votes. Beautiful video, its really well done. Whats the name of the song that you used? It's beautiful.
@ChilliGypsy the song is ' a sacred place' its from the movie sanctum! thank you so much- you are the reason i made this film and that response is exactly what i wanted from it!!! welcome to the shark side ;)
yea, no offense. I like sharks. I am totally against fining and killing them. they are gorgeous.
But if they are not scary nor dangerous why do you guys wear protection? they are predators. Those sharks on the video are mostly riff sharks or nurse sharks. try to swim with hammerheads and bulls. if shark is hungry you better stay away from her. i know someone who was attacked by shark. I don't think that person is really sharing your feelings.
@estonian we wear chainmail for two reasons, first is because we feed them, thats something that doesnt usually happen with human- shark interactions, and the nictitating membrane that covers their eye when they go in for food blocks their vision, so occasionally they nip our hand, second reason is because it helps with the tonic!
tiger sharks are not riff sharks- and notice we wear no protection around them, and i have swum with the other two, and great whites with no protection!
@estonian sorry ran outta space- another thing is they are huge fish and i know people get attacked- if someone was in a car accident- would they go around the rest of their life hating cars? if anyone has a close connection with these creatures- it was probably the person you know who was attacked. and nothing is worse than the way we treat sharks! being in the water with them is so different than being on the surface, and i really appreciate this comment its good to talk about it!! Madi
Question; when our species going to stop destroying the wild life…just wondering when..maybe after every species on earth will vanish then we will stop!!!
Incredible video. Well done. One has to worry that at the rate they are being depleted and the age at which they reach sexual maturity if they will ever be able to recover now.
@Traveler2112 it is a worry... what worries me more is the amount of people that dont care because sharks are 'scary' but we will change that wont we... :)
@elements5pip Although I have caught quite a few sharks while fishing I always release them. There are ppl here that catch them and kill them basically for sport which is rediculous. Catch, take a quick pic and release. Its not that difficult. Take care. One can hope through education that ppl will see the vital link that sharks play in the eco chain and the ramifications once they can no longer keep balance.
this is an amazing video, I'm going up to the great barrier in summer this year to get footage of sharks in tonic to raise awareness and share my story like you. keep up the great work :)
@live2surf24 hey, thank you! The tonic was actually filmed in the Caribbean off the island of Nassau, where i go to see lots of sharks because they are getting harder and harder to find on the GBR! defiantly do a live aboard out to Osprey reef, it is the holy grail of diving :) Madi.
@elements5pip great, I'll definetly look into it :) i live in victoria so its a bit hard to help out with finning and to get footage of sharks but I help in any other way i can. one of the ways i can do this is through a fundraiser at my school, we can easily raise over $1000 on a good day and your work is an inspiration, your literally living my dream and if its cool with you I'd love to do a fundraiser to support your incredible effort. :)
My heart bleeds for them it is really horrible. It is already the end of the world in fact that is it for a long time. The man looks like the neant. :-(
I live in Taiwan and the attitude towards sharks is truly sad. Taiwanese fishing boats are probably the worst offenders of shark killing and brutality (in sheer numbers). Taiwanese weddings it is common to have shark fin soup. Sometimes it is fake, but most people want the real deal. If you ask them they will say they don't care about the implications. Young families will still teach their kids that eating shark is good, all in the name of looking good. Truly selfish and sad!!
@lekima in Australia, they do it for greed, and money we dont need, because our government dont care about the Great Barrier Reef, and really- is no different to what you are talking about, but there are people like us fighting against it! x MADI
Thank goodness the TV networks constantly run movies like Jaws & its sequels. This is the only way to know the truth, since the tree-hugging liberal element has gotten the kids so animal-crazy that they'll believe almost anything.

As she is willingly swimming with sharks in quite warm water I find this doubtful, so again, you are an unsubstantiated idiot :)
giantlucas 5 months ago 2

@elements5pip if ur not afraid of getting bit why do u wear a chain mail suit
arniebarb123 7 months ago

Is that "chain-mail" suit for real, or just a silver knit?
SimonVinJapan 8 months ago
Respond to this video... its for real buddy... heavy metal, neptunic shark suit. stops bites, because we feed them and they close their eyes in the last few seconds the go for the bait, we occasionally get little unintentional nips, so we wear the chain mail, notice theres none around the tigers. their slow enough to feed safely.

TerraceYouth 2 weeks ago
@TerraceYouth OH... and even if they did kill millions... we are in no position to decide wether or not they live in their ocean! (its an average of 5 deaths worldwide from sharks by the way, maybe know what your talking about before you fight it)
elements5pip 2 weeks ago
@TerraceYouth Sharks are natural born killers of squid, fish, the occasional seal. Not humans. First of all, rarely are humans killed. Of all the hundreds of millions of water entries (billions, even!), only a handful of people are bitten by sharks, and only a few of those people die. If you are selachiiphobic, just say so. You don't have to kill the sharks. Better yet, stay out of the water and off Youtube. Your comments are insultingly stupid.
jonser2008 2 weeks ago
@jonser2008 Silly little fool. How stupid do you think the general public is? The reason more people aren't killed is because few go in the water, relatively speaking. Especially where these monsters live & feed. Put more people in the water in those areas & you'll be changing your tune. Bottom line: If you're in their way, you'll be attacked & eaten. But how often do the circumstances allow for this? Tell me, Einstein. And do so without trying to mislead me with your illogical hogwash.
TerraceYouth 2 weeks ago
@TerraceYouth Every summer, millions of people swim in the ocean. Occasionally someone is bitten by a shark and it makes headlines. Most swimmers, divers and fishermen are not ever bitten by sharks much less consumed. More swimmers means more shark attacks, like more airplanes means more crashes. Sharks are wild animals. They should be respected. But being in the water with a shark is not a death sentence.
jonser2008 2 weeks ago
@TerraceYouth "How often do the circumstances allow for this?" you ask. Sharks are always present in the waters that people use for swimming, surfing, boating etc. The sharks may not be seen, but they are there. Yet attacks are very rare. Why? Because people are not part of a sharks natural diet. Most shark bites that do occur, don't result in the loss of flesh. Bite and release. Why? Because we aren't on the menu. Occasionally, people bleed to death, but consumption is very rare.

TerraceYouth 8 months ago
@TerraceYouth you ever been in the water with one? and i guess the hundreds of comments and emails from people saying they have changed their minds about sharks in my inbox say otherwise.
elements5pip 8 months ago 3
@elements5pip LOL...!! Yeah. But just let there be a rash of shark attacks and you'll see how fast all of those people are oddly "out of the water". Because in YOUR eyes, people that get attacked deserved it. You've always got an EXCUSE for this mindless predator’s aggressive behavior. And people are starting to wake up to your kind, too. One bad experience and all of your hard-fought "victories" go straight down the toilet. Right where they belong. Dirty little feminized liar.
TerraceYouth 5 months ago

You’ll see. It’s only a matter of time.

@TerraceYouth im sorry but if you actually think humans are a sharks favourite food, go do some research, and educate yourself, and explain my dives with great whites showing no interest in my flesh, you've got nothing on me and my hundreds of hours around sharks... people are changing, and it is become more clear that sharks are not mindless killers, which is great, because we need to the keep the oceans running.
elements5pip 8 months ago 9
@elements5pip Sharks & all predators dangerous to man should be wiped out. To begin with, the world really doesn’t need them. And as long as they continue to 'do what they do' (i.e.: be sharks), they will be hated & feared. Of course, the next logical step would be to get the major news networks to CENSOR OUT what doesn't agree with your fucked up theories. Thereby luring a blinded & naive public to their deaths. I mean, it's what you've done with everything else in society. Why stop now?
TerraceYouth 5 months ago
@TerraceYouth you can say whatever you want ... you have not once shown any slight knowledge of sharks or the ocean ecosystem, these things require education Terrace!
elements5pip 5 months ago
@elements5pip It's simple... the more people that go into the water, they more shark attacks there will be. And when that fact occurs, instead of cringing away in defeat, YOU kooks stand there & say things like..."Well, humans are trespassing into the shark's habitat. Just like they do with every other creature on the planet". Like we're supposed to feel guilty about that! That's the way YOU people deal with the facts. Put more people in the water & you will see what sharks like to eat the most!
TerraceYouth 5 months ago
@TerraceYouth cringing away in defeat? like its a competition. do you have any respect for human life? put more people on the road, and more people will get killed by cars. so what is your point? you think the decimation of entire species is justified by the average 5 people who loose their lives to sharks... in that sense we should be culling humans so theres less murders!
elements5pip 5 months ago
@TerraceYouth It's simple mathematics that shark accidents rise with the number of people in the water. A fact I found in my studies is tha there never ever was a fatal shark attack which was proven to be the shark's fault. There were always factors created by humans that lead to these accidents like fishers dumping carcasses in the water or swimmers making noises. They simply mistake them for their usual prey and as long as you are not afraid of driving a car you should not bother about sharks.
BugMagnet 5 months ago
@BugMagnet
But wait, lets look at the situation of where the young body boarder was mauled in WA (from memory). You can't say that it was the body boarder's fault? If the shark mistakes a human for a prey then its the sharks fault, because as human's we can't do much else. Yeah okay the water is their domain and we should respect that and them of course.
phildepas88 4 months ago
@phildepas88 Accidents still happen. And there are still plenty of possibilities between "the shark is evil" and "that guy is stupid". Last winter some similar attacks occured in egypt and everyone was really fast at blaming the evil nature of the sharks for it. Only later they found out that the reason were animal carcasses dumped near the beaches by some careless people who were neither affected nor near the accident side when it happened. it isn't always plain and simple
BugMagnet 4 months ago

I always knew that finning is illegal off the coast of Australia yet ships still come close to do it. Many reports have been on television news about this over the years, but what the he'll is the difference between finning and fin fishing? Is there a loophole in the law? There is always some stupid issue in the wording of law. Stop this stupid practice put a piece of lettuce in your frigging soup.
WhereisMuller 8 months ago 3
@WhereisMuller yes exactly, not only does it happen illegally in our waters on an incredible scale, but because the body is kept (as a bi product) it is called 'sustainable' but there is no way to fish an already threatened species sustainably! AND were supporting the fin trade and not our tourism industry, government needs to pull their heads out of their butts!

yea, no offense.
I don't think that person is really sharing your feelings.
estonian 8 months ago
@estonian we wear chainmail for two reasons, first is because we feed them, thats something that doesnt usually happen with human- shark interactions, and the nictitating membrane that covers their eye when they go in for food blocks their vision, so occasionally they nip our hand, second reason is because it helps with the tonic!
tiger sharks are not riff sharks- and notice we wear no protection around them, and i have swum with the other two, and great whites with no protection!
elements5pip 8 months ago 3
@estonian sorry ran outta space- another thing is they are huge fish and i know people get attacked- if someone was in a car accident- would they go around the rest of their life hating cars? if anyone has a close connection with these creatures- it was probably the person you know who was attacked. and nothing is worse than the way we treat sharks! being in the water with them is so different than being on the surface, and i really appreciate this comment its good to talk about it!! :)

@lekima in Australia, they do it for greed, and money we dont need, because our government dont care about the Great Barrier Reef, and really- is no different to what you are talking about, but there are people like us fighting against it! x MADI
