Hey mate. Nice vid! I was wondering if the Ibanez RG170DX you're using is good for slipknot kind of songs? Thinking about getting it for my sister who wants to learn with a Marshall MG10. Would a RG32 be way better? Thanks :)

@Tilan123 well if you want a really heavy tone and a high gained output, you should go with the RG32 with the active pick-ups. active pick-ups actually give you a very good sound in metal and with some brands they work with everything! my Dean Deceiver plays, metal, rock, reggae & blues =]

@Tilan123 well, the RG170 has got a very good tone but not that much of gain. but after all it's 50-50 with the sound when it comes to using an effect pedal, amp, multi effect processor.. etc

for example i use a BOSS GT-6 efeects processor and i can make my guitars sound pretty much anything i want them to

after all, the ibanez RG170 is a good guitar, but if you can go for the RG32, i'd recommend you to!

@3Blindsk8er3 I just watched a video from the disc i got with my Guitarworld issue and the lead guitarist say he uses custom 13-70 guage strings which he says Dunlop is going to be producing soon. The tuning is B-b instead of E-e. thats what the guitarist himself has said so there you go.

@BigRaptorHunter well, concerning the tuning, that's what is said x] if you read my reply to bowslinger85, i wrote that the tuning's: B-E-A-D-F#-B

but about the string gauge, i dont use such high gauges cuz sometimes i like to tune back the guitar inot standard tuning [E tuning] and imagine what sort of tension you'll be playin on with a 13 gauge x]

@3Blindsk8er3 i dont use that type of gauge either. i play ernie ball 11-48 like Slash does and i play in standard tuning most of the time lol. the guitarist of FFDP says he wants the tension cuz too slinky of strings and it gets sloppy sounding. i just wanted to let everyone know what the real guy uses so if they really wanted to go hardcore on this song they could lol like i said dunlop is going to produce some "death punch" string pack so you'll be able to play FFDP songs the way they do. :)

you see i am using a 009 strung gauge so the strings were really loose already!
