It's not that Christ was supposed to be dead for 3 days. The point was that he would resurrect on the 3rd day. Friday is the first day, Saturday the second, Sunday the third. The Gospels always make it clear that "on the *THIRD* day Christ rose from the dead" instead of saying something like "3 days after he died"
@reziboy100 Lets do the math: [It takes many hours to die by crucifixion] The crucifixion (9am/the 3rd hour); darkness covers the land (noon/the 6th hour); Jesus said "It is finished" (3pm/the 9th hour). He laid in the Tomb (6pm/by the Sabbath). He rose (5-6am/before-at dawn) see John 20:1. Therefore, Day 1 is Friday; Day 2 is Saturday and Sunday never really arrived since he rose before/by dawn Sunday (that's 2 days at best). See next panel.
However, the Jews (Semites) count days from 6pm to 6pm back then and also today (while the US & the West count days from 12 midnight to 12 midnight). Also Jesus' parable, the sign of Jonah that he gave, states 3 days AND 3 nights in the heart of the earth by Jesus own words.

So he was in the Tomb from Saturday night to before/by Dawn of the first day of the week (Sunday). At most that is either one day or a day & a half; but might be stretched to 2 days with imagination (not 3).

But even if you use your method, Jesus was in the tomb from Friday (1 day) to Saturday (2 days) & then you can't count Sunday because he supposedly rose before Sunrise Sunday (before dawn). That would be 2 days (Sunday did not arrive) & Jesus said with his own words he would be in the earth 3 days AND 3 nights. Let's try to be correct

If I offer someone a gift, and they refuse to accept it, to whom then does it belong? Jesus dying on the cross makes it possible for God to be reconciled with men, but only if they want that reconcilliation. Jesus is the only way to God. Sorry.

It's not that Christ was supposed to be dead for 3 days. The point was that he would resurrect on the 3rd day. Friday is the first day, Saturday the second, Sunday the third. The Gospels always make it clear that "on the *THIRD* day Christ rose from the dead" instead of saying something like "3 days after he died"

He laid in the Tomb (6pm/by the Sabbath). He rose (5-6am/before-at dawn) see John 20:1. Therefore, Day 1 is Friday; Day 2 is Saturday and Sunday never really arrived since he rose before/by dawn Sunday (that's 2 days at best). See next panel.

@reziboy100 ANOTHER CORRECTION: Back then Friday was finished at 6pm & he was in his tomb by then, the Sabbath (Saturday) - which is actually day one (Saturday is day 1) & he rose before dawn Sunday which is still only one day (since we can't count a day that has not arrived, i.e., Sunday). So he was in the Tomb from Saturday night to before/by Dawn of the first day of the week (Sunday). At most that is either one day or a day & a half; but might be stretched to 2 days with imagination (not 3).

But even if you use your method, Jesus was in the tomb from Friday (1 day) to Saturday (2 days) & then you can't count Sunday because he supposedly rose before Sunrise Sunday (before dawn). That would be 2 days (Sunday did not arrive) & Jesus said with his own words he would be in the earth 3 days AND 3 nights. Let's try to be correct

Jesus, if speaking of himself, is saying he will be in the belly of the EARTH 3 days AND 3 nights. Either Jesus is a liar, the Bible is wrong or altered, you misunderstand or lastly, it refers to more than we appear to know. Hope this helps.

@TruthToEntertain The NOI teaches Islam & the followers are Muslims. Islam means submission to God. The NOI has minimal to no record of violence in it's history. Muslim means to submit to the will of God & the NOI members submit; all members take the Shahada; The NOI religious book is the Qur'an; they adhere to the 5 pillars of Islam (Belief in one God/Allah, Salat, fasting, zakat & Hajj to mecca). To confirm attend Jummah, Mosque Mariam. The NOI is still the NOI & under Farrakhan's guidance.

What is the Muslim view of Christians? I mean by that, as a Christian I believe in Jesus as the Son of God, which conflicts with Muslim belief. Does that put me in a wrong standing with God in the eyes of Muslims? I do not believe in Mohammed as a prophet. No disrespect intended. But, does that make me a blasphemer or wrong to Muslims?

Islam classifies individuals into 3 categories; believer, disbeliever, or hypocrite. You would be considered a disbeliever due to your disbelief in The Prophet/Messenger of Allah (God) which is Muhammad. We are taught that the worse if the hypocrite. The hypocrites are those who say they believe and fall back on their word.

@fskoti A muslim, by definition, is one who surrenders to Who we in the West call God. A Christian who truly follows Christ is, by definition, a muslim. The Holy Qu'ran is clear in many ayats (verses) that a follower of the Last Prophet (according to Islam) is not to bicker with the People of the Book (Christians, and others who received and follow the Message of God) about where they differ, but to come together upon that which they agree (eg., One God, right and wrong, Day of Judgement).

@qdizzle2007 CORRECTION: Count again - Buried Friday at 6pm (the Jewish Sabbath) and was not in the tomb Sunday before dawn, before sunrise (before Sunday arrived); that's when Mary visited the tomb. So if I use your method that is Friday and Saturday / Sunday had not yet arrived. But remember Jesus himself verbally stated 3 days & 3 nights (using the parable of Jonah). By your count, if you say 3 days, then where is the 3 nights (as Jesus stated himself).

So by your method Friday (from 6pm) to Saturday is one day; Saturday is two days; Sunday had not arrived since Jesus was not in the tomb when she came which was before dawn (before sunrise). No 3rd day by your standards (If you count Friday as a day & Saturday as a day, then you cannot count Sunday since he was not there). By Jesus words of 3 days & 3 nights; he did not fulfill this.

@carrollmafia CORRECTION: He is suppose to have died Friday evening (By 6 pm, the Sabbath) and Mary arrived before dawn on Sunday. If you count Friday as one day and Saturday as another day, then Sunday cannot be counted because he was gone before dawn & dark (see John 21:1 & Luke 24:1). Also, Jesus actually said out of his mouth (his prophesy - see Matthew 12:40) 3 days AND 3 NIGHTS.

If you were to research Farrakhan you will find that he loves Jesus, the Christ as I do. No one has ever denied Jesus here, we are questioning the sentiments and beliefs apon which Christianity was built. Farrakhan talks facts here but I don't here you address any of his poignant comments.

the secret, i just have to believe he did this for me and know that i deserve death for my sins (sin equals death, Gods rules). imagine someone dies so that you can live and escape hell, and you tell them "no i dont accept your gift of life", thats what unbelievers do!
