"I want somethin that somebody gonna go to the record store and buy" Explain why Soulja Boy has so many people downloading his singles (il/legally) rather than buying his album?
shit making commercial radio beats is so damn simple. just get a synthesizer mashed with heavy bass and hand claps n snares and you got a musical representation of childish ignorance.
let me say this first, i aint really big on the comercial beat garbage. but i gotta say, it aint as easy as you think. 1) you gotta have an ear for a good beat, 2)you gotta be able to get the best person to rap over that beat(don't think its as simple as gettin any dude behind the mic or else everybody would be makin hit). the simplicity is an illusion. just cause its simple don't mean its easy. and 2 be honest its harder because its simple and stripped down. layered beats are actually easier.
he want money. that's all it is. he aint tryin to start no fckin revolution or none o that shit, he want money and he want success and he wants it now. i feel em on that
hey you cats be seriously hating on cats from the south thats basicly all these comments in here are about the man is winning and aint none of you in here fortune tellers so stop trying to say what this mans career is gone be like
question for you niggaz hating on south artist. since you niggaz know so much what artist should we be bumpin Im curious, cause if you holla out some garbage rapper who aint out selling these cats how you sound and please give me someone other then jigga
keep hating the south i love it meen while tell ya fav rapper to step their game up realyou east coast cats do what you do thats yall thing we gone our way and keep going plat nigga we don't need your approval
I agree dopemcee. Collipark gets the immediate gain, but will have no legacy. 95% of these weak azz artist he's signed will have no longevity. The Ying-Yang Twins' are done! If nobody plays your garbage azz music 10 years from now, that means no publishing checks 10 years from now.
Kanye is winning because he does push the envelope. Look at how Common's career has blossomed and he's 15 years deep in the game.
Collipark, you'll pay now or you'll pay later, but you will pay (see. MC Hammer).
no you missing the boat he wants to do both this man is still paid to do a job thats produce records people will by, same with mc trying to get in this game you can be the tightest like nas but if you not giving labels what they want then your out.
he sayin that he makes music to enjoy people so they can buy it. he sayin all these b boy producers makin all this shit to please critics but critics dont even buy the music they get it free to crticize it. if a person buys the music they must love it duh. music is to enjoy people and thats what all this Crank that a bay bay and other southern rap does. Do You Get It NOW?
if you cant see the artist ideas then you lose already
now that i see i`m pending i already know and buy out the record store u must be lost

Hip-Hop needs more music for young people. So, managing and producing for artists like Souljah Boy and V.I.C is good look.

Not for the artist or the producer. It's called creativity and moving the art form forward. That's what got us from Jazz to Motown....
