Hmm, I pressed 1 and 2 (not at the same time) at one point, just to see if they'd do anything, and nothing happened, otherwise this would've been possible to figure it out myself. Perhaps I didn't hold it down long enough...

Also, same situation here, after seeing Chuggaaconroy's playthrough of this game, I wanted to get it so badly.
