Since this is a sequence break part of the bridge isn't visible until later in the game. You are supposed to go to Athens and get Zeus' Fury before you come back to cross the bridge. If you backtrack you can get it to load even if you use this method.
Good question. I'm not really sure but with regenerating magic I think one upgrade of both is plenty to beat the game with ease. If I'm going for the best time possible I usually ignore all chests after this point.

I understand completely why you wouldn't want to use this vs. the method you already had. Lvl 2 PR > Lvl 2 BoC. But I thought it was a fairly small price to pay for a 10+ minute skip.
I'm not sure that could be considered the "Longest Jump" as it would 'appear' to revolve around having your target lower then your starting point. But it definately is the better way of handling that part as you can go straight to the end platform.
I suppose the 'real' longest jump will probably involve Artemis at this point. I expect someone to come up with a huge skip with it. I know there are places I want to work with the BoA to see if a massive skip is possible which will probably cover more distance than the Athens Square. In the end, I'm sure you are right but until then I might leave it as is for simplicity.
It has its uses. My method of getting over to the broken bridge was a sort of mix up with the longest jump and this, with also a Poseidon's Rage used somewhere between... suffice it to say, this is a lot faster and easier than that.
I was initially trying something much harder kind of like a modified longer jump with a Hermes Rush until I just kept simplifying it and discovered that all it required was an Icarus Lift and a Hermes Stomp.
I know upgrading to lvl2 BoC first is not what most people will want to do, but if you can't land the original Athens Jump then this should be a good replacement.

@THEJTODAK Correct because you can't grab the ledge. The whole area can be skipped anyway with appolo's high jump (directly to the chests).

Its just a Hermes Stomp (R1), which can be done with lvl 2 Blades of Chaos.

oh ok, thanks for pointing that out. That makes sense. I finally master the high jump and regen magic. I also beat the COG lvl 10. Thanks again!
