Hmm....cannot agree that it's better than anything of the Beatles. Yes, it's better than lots, but in my book, nothing touches Golden Slumbers, or Here Comes the Sun, quite a few others. I know he's the man solo, big fucking surprise there, but one great solo matched against one great quartet typically loses, and the songwriting of Lennon/McCartney is supreme, or the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Just my two cents worth...

If you listen very closely, you can hear an edit point occurring between 2:02 and 2:03 where they cut the recording tape to change the arrangement of the song. In the 70s, they did this by actually cutting the tape with a razor blade, removing the length of tape with the unwanted section of music, then re-attaching the two parts of the tape back together. The person performing this procedure had to be extremely good at what they were doing or the result would be obvious and unpleasant to hear.

Granted, the tempo discrepancy to which I refer is very, very slight. Perhaps I'm wrong and it's just that all the musicians came in late together at the beginning of the solo section, but it's unlikely in the extreme that all the musicians in the band would start the solo section just a hair late in unison.
