I don't know why the camera work in concertos is so poor. When the camera should be following the soloist, it shows the brass section, or the fifth row in the first violin section, or the percussionist, or it pulls back for a distant shot of the orchestra. In concertos, the viewer generally wants to see the soloist. This performance, by the way, was quite interesting.

That was an explosive & masterful demonstration at the keyboard by de Maria...I think it left the crowd (and me) a bit baffled and in awe.

I saw his performance today in Rio de Janeiro and was really impressed. He is indeed a poet of the keyboard.
