Piping it via plastic (with blue led color balancing) is different from artificial light how? We are planning a system to light the central stair in our townhouse using solar panels tied to 12v bulbs (no batteries). When the sun comes up, they glow brighter until noon, when they will dim as the sun sets. "Natural" light feel, available technology (low cost), relatively easy install.
@tsbrownie I am assuming that the plastic transports the light far more efficiently. Solar panels are at best 20% efficient, dont get me wrong I love solar energy, but converting light to electrical then back to light again seems a little silly when you can have direct transfer of light. (appart from the blue leds powered by solar)
Great day lighting, but clouds will cause the light to dim. Overall it works except for the bright/dim cycles durring operation. But energy savings are energy savings. Pretty cool.
this is awesome! that office space looked incredible with the way the natural light was adjusting. imagine an office that shifted with the sun like that!! natural light has been proven to do wonders for peoples focus instead of electrical lighting. we could all be more focused, and stop burning tonnes of fuel to attain what comes naturally: light.
@micropixable What? We have gone a long way with oil and gas items just think how far we would have gone if people invested as much they do on oil on free energy + more...
