  • guys stop ripping on this guy just cause he uploaded a video of him training, sure his technique isnt the best, but maybe we should be helping him rather than trashing him.

    MAIN THINGS:

    - i'd say with your straight punches, keep your elbow in as long as possible, pop it out at the last second with a flick.

    - kicks, you need to either pivot or step at an angle to generate more power, i step as i find it stronger, so try that, step wide and kick up and across into him ( rather than straight up )

  • @AussieTsunameh --I agree w u m8, I'm a relative beginner (I'll be grading for Green soon just like this guy) and yeh we can all see the kicks aren't rotating from hip as they should, and w the knees-speed knees push opponent then bring knee right in with hip to double the power. Punches snap from shoulder then elbow. I can identify w all this as my own trainer (trained under master Sken and his assistant under master Woody) pointed this out to me. Peace

  • Dude, im not here to trash you. You obviously have a passion for muay thai and you are motivated to train hard. But im going to be honest with you, your technique is terrible. My advice to you would be to join a real muay thai/kickboxing club and learn the basics. If you learn how to perform the techniques properly your passion and motivation can take you far.

  • Yeah, he aint the best, hips dont rotate, doesnt pivot on either foot, pretty skinny, and should really kick a football instead of a person, but it takes fuckin balls to be a 3rd Khan Ruang and jump straight into interclubs,he gave as good as he got against a bigger built fella but didnt stop, hes got the ambition and balls to get stuck in, id rather be a 3rd Khan Ruang that jumps in the ring with basic skills and does well than a 10th Khan Ruang whos never had a fight. well done anyways bud,

  • every time youkick you are not rotating your hips and that gives the advantage to your opponent to grab your leg and elbow you,knee you, e.t.c.... learn how to defend a jab,hook,uppercut first and then try to attack....you need to find good timing when you are fighting...also when you knee someone do not jump so much or maybe at all is much better...try and knee him while you are pulling your body back....keep up the good job cause you look young and the future is yours..train hard,feel good

    1) Shit Punches, specially ur HOOKS there is no body rotation!

    2) Ur kicks r the worst, u need to turn ur whole hip into it facing the direction u kick rther than standing straight

    3) Ur Knees, u doin that toally wrong u gotta get the power from ur hips push ya hips rather than ya kneww cap

  • That's because there's no such thing as a true Muay Thai style. It's about using legs, fists, knees, elbows .etc. not hopping around on one foot. Most fighters today find the so called 'traditional' Muay Thai guard stance as ineffective so they use the typical boxing guard instead. There are no rules ordering you stand or kick in a particular way. There are simply more prefered ways are kicking. Really modern thai fighting looks more MMA nowadays.

  • First of all, you cant kick properly.When you kick a roundhouse, you dont kick UP, you kick SIDEWAYS,you need to rotate your hips, which you dont.Learn the technics first, then train it, dont get use to kick wrong, otherwise it will in you forever

  • not enough meat, need to eat maccas and watch tv for a few months then turn the shit into dense muscle. speed and strength doesnt come from mass. playing soccer will also greatly increase your quads hamstring and calves and if u hate that do alot of uphill sprints and agility work. your being capped by ur body mass and ur trainer. get a real sifu.
