I have it set up as a web server for all my stuff. I mean it's a total portal: FTP service, Orb Media, VNC, and the uTorrent Web Interface. All secured with a nice Linksys router with DD-WRT custom firmware.

i can run only run 1 game in xp. 1 game in vista. 3 games at once in 7. I've downloaded WoW in both os'. Xp finished at 3 hours, vista in 4 and a half, and 7 in 1 hour and a half. Power up time in xp was 8 seconds, vista 15, windows 7 in 8 secs.

If you are using the same DSL there cannot be a hour and a half difference in downloading a file, no matter what operating system you use. Download speeds have nothing to do with the operating system. If it goes at 200 kb/s on xp it will go the same on vista and 7. It can't just magically double if to 400 kb/s if you use another OS. You have no idea how downloading works do you? I will pay you if you show us your computer booting up. Make a video of it and shut me up will you?

@rifall Uhm no. They made countless upgrades from vista to 7. For instance, Windows 7 requires less memory for it to run effieciently then Vista, therefore making Windows 7 faster. Windows 7 has a great gui and is easy to "get along" They don't have the same registries... wut r u talking about.

And, the disc comes in a plastic case. What disc doesn't come in a plastic case. You don't exactly need a metal case for an OS install disc. The computer itself is enclosed in better material than most windows pcs and look much better.
And all the features added between vista and 7 were just GUI features. Not really internal upgrades. They fixed ram because of the vista problem but that's it.
@rifall 7 also fixed many driver issues from Vista aswell, and there are other fixes too. Tell me, OS Leopard sucked, so whats so different about Snow Leopard?

also no computer takes 8 seconds to boot up. apple computers take 20 seconds and my laptop running 7 takes about 36 seconds according to my stopwatch. I say they are close and it doesnt matter to me since i ussually walk away form my laptop when its booting in the morning because i need to do some other stuff then when im done its ready. computers are great but both OSX and windows have flaws.

With a Macbook, you can get Final Cut, Logic, and Apperture for $1600. So, the comparison is really fair, even considering that the programs I mentioned are professional programs.

Windows is terrible. Virus prone and way too complicated. People say Windows is cheaper but it isn't! Firstly, put together the cost for the computer, the virus protection, MS Office, the Ultimate Version of whichever Windows OS you want (because thats closest to Mac OS X), then the cost for movie editing software, music software, photo editing software and website making software. Macs have all that free with iLife. Then you can just get iWork 09 for £69.99. Works out cheaper than Windows!!

If I intend to use computer for work at home, I'll buy desktop PC for say 800$ (+ LCD display which I own) which will devastate any notebook in terms of performance.
If I want computer for traveling I'll buy 13-14 inch notebook with ULV processor and 6cell battery for long endurance for 700-800$ or even 12 inch netbook with dual-core Atom for 600$.
Who the hell would need the heavy monster from this ad OR eventually any overpriced Mac at all?

I have it set up as a web server for all my stuff. I mean it's a total portal: FTP service, Orb Media, VNC, and the uTorrent Web Interface. All secured with a nice Linksys router with DD-WRT custom firmware.
No, I'm not the average user, but how many Mac users would be willing to do that themselves?

I'm sorry but to all those people saying vista hasn't crashed for them one time in their 3 years of use... Fuck You. I've used vista for a grand total of two weeks and it crashed, froze, and all that crap. Needless to say Windows XP is by far the best windows available. You could argue windows 7 is good, its certainly better than vista, but its not better than XP. If your going to buy a pc, get it with xp and skin it so it doesn't look old, THAT'S IT!!!

i can run only run 1 game in xp. 1 game in vista. 3 games at once in 7. I've downloaded WoW in both os'. Xp finished at 3 hours, vista in 4 and a half, and 7 in 1 hour and a half. Power up time in xp was 8 seconds, vista 15, windows 7 in 8 secs.

If you are using the same DSL there cannot be a hour and a half difference in downloading a file, no matter what operating system you use. Download speeds have nothing to do with the operating system. If it goes at 200 kb/s on xp it will go the same on vista and 7. It can't just magically double if to 400 kb/s if you use another OS. You have no idea how downloading works do you? I will pay you if you show us your computer booting up. Make a video of it and shut me up will you?

@rifall Uhm no. They made countless upgrades from vista to 7. For instance, Windows 7 requires less memory for it to run effieciently then Vista, therefore making Windows 7 faster. Windows 7 has a great gui and is easy to "get along" They don't have the same registries... wut r u talking about.
Oh and i also believe that Snow leopard comes in a cheap white case aswell, but idk cause i've never actually held one in my hands

And, the disc comes in a plastic case. What disc doesn't come in a plastic case. You don't exactly need a metal case for an OS install disc. The computer itself is enclosed in better material than most windows pcs and look much better.
And all the features added between vista and 7 were just GUI features. Not really internal upgrades. They fixed ram because of the vista problem but that's it.

also no computer takes 8 seconds to boot up. apple computers take 20 seconds and my laptop running 7 takes about 36 seconds according to my stopwatch. I say they are close and it doesnt matter to me since i ussually walk away form my laptop when its booting in the morning because i need to do some other stuff then when im done its ready. computers are great but both OSX and windows have flaws.

Dude, there is a mac version for everything you just said. You can get FTP, Orb, VNC and utorrent (also with WebUI) and connect a linksys router on a mac. Many mac users are not only willing to do that but are doing that already. I fail to see the point...

If you told me your computer shuts down in 8 seconds thats believable (my mac powers down in 4s) , but if you say it boots up in 8 seconds its obviously a pathetic attempt to make your computer look better than how it really is. An ultra fast computer would boot up in about 20s-30s (and thats for a $2000+ computer). 8 seconds is just far from reality, you got greedy with the numbers and got caught lying. But please prove me wrong, make a boot up video and show the world your computer is!!!

With a Macbook, you can get Final Cut, Logic, and Apperture for $1600. So, the comparison is really fair, even considering that the programs I mentioned are professional programs.

Oh, and if you want more storage space, just get a 1TB or 2TB external HD. Even if your "amazing" Windows computer comes with a 1TB HD, you will need to buy an external HD for back-ups. Some Macs have a 1TB HD as an option if you order online from the Apple Store

Windows is terrible. Virus prone and way too complicated. People say Windows is cheaper but it isn't! Firstly, put together the cost for the computer, the virus protection, MS Office, the Ultimate Version of whichever Windows OS you want (because thats closest to Mac OS X), then the cost for movie editing software, music software, photo editing software and website making software. Macs have all that free with iLife. Then you can just get iWork 09 for £69.99. Works out cheaper than Windows!!

Macs are way over priced and you can get so much more for your money with a PC. 1k wont get you any mac, but will give you a wide choice of PCs. They both use the same hardware now. OS X doesnt crash? please now. i have had a mac crash on me just by opening pictures and going on the internet. in fact i have had OS X crash on me more times than a window's based OS. And as soon as hackers make a virus for OS X you will be in hell because Macs arent ready for viruses, its not that they are secure, its that NO HACKER makes viruses for them. I hope that soon hackers decide to so you can shut your mouth.

If you don't know what you're talking about, you should better shut up. If a Mac crashes, its almost sure that the hard disk has been damaged. I've been using Macs for two years with no problem at all.
And you are right, OS X is not ready for viruses, because of its Unix core.
