I was right outside wrigley field watching the end of the game. I was the only one that knew the puck went in. what a party on clark st after we won, Go hawks lets bring the cup home in 2012.
re:flyer fans.Did they start a riot cause they lost? No.So they may be tough on the teams from Philly, but they did try to burn cars or stores so that does not qualify them as least classy. Hawk fan here.
Nice celebration, and good to see hockey alive and well in the windy city. These are great fans, and i've been to many NHL cities. In my opinion the most loyal and dedicated fans are in Edmonton, Alberta. The Oilers are lucky to have such great fans and vice versa.
I remember being at the Cubby Bear in lincolnshire for my 18th birthday when they won, never have I experienced such electricity and emotion from a game in my life, they made it truly special, I'll never, ever forget it.
wow im from philly great job hawks but you guys need to go ALOT more crazy for being deprived that long we rip down poles and flip cars for a world series thats a celebration lol
@nabs307 How do you know that? Really how? That's like saying the sox fans too, or Cubs fans too, or ANY FANS when a team wins. If anything the Blackhawks rebuilt themselves the past few years and came back like they were before.
It was great to see Chicago win the cup. Especially when you remember that the season before, there were hundreds of empty seats in the arena at their home games. Congratulations guys! - From a Sharks fan
@CallSignMusic Average attendance from the year before the Cup was 111% of capacity. Remember they were one of the favorites to make it to the Cup Finals that year. But 2 years before that it was 62%. Of course back then they had none of their big stars, and the team supposedly gave away more tickets than they sold just so they could inflate their attendance numbers. It's tough on hockey fans when their team doesn't win a Cup for 5 decades.
I was so confused when the puck went in.......but when I saw the team celebrating--I got so excited I jumped off the couch and smacked my head on the railing banister in my livingroom----the major headache was totally worth it.
that bar just turned into a night club after that goal.. and ... when people sing that song.. it just kills how good the song is.. Soo please people let the band sing it.. not u
@RedWingsChamps2011 Shut up. On a side note, we just need to sweep the home and away series against the retirement home this weekend to ensure our shot at a repeat!
the agony of not knowing and then jubilation wonderful first time i saw this- the young man saying hes been a blackhawks fan since jan. 2010 the emotion in his voice i know i felt it to 31 years ,june 9 2010 i will always remember and this video is just classic
same reaction at the bar i was at...only thing was i the ONLY one that knew and once i went crazy, everyone joined in...priceless moment ill never forget.
man i wish i was there,i was in nebraska in a hotel room by myself for work.when they scored that goal i went nuts and had security called on me.they thought someone was being murdered in my room lol.i had my belfour jersey on and as soon as i opened the door, the security guard immediatly knew what happened.lol
im a st louis blues fan and i actually am glad the blackhawks won.... philidelphia does not deserve the stanley cup and the world series... they suck a fat one
I didn't even realize the puck was in after Kane shot... As many others I was so afraid the celebration was premature, but the replay was such a relief... GO HAWKS !!! As a diehard Hawks fan from Montreal, this was one of the happiest moments of my life.
@MidwestTheRest Wow. That's awesome. what @danpin8009 said is totally true. Just the way Chicago embraced the excellent team they had shows that they deserve to have a Stanley Cup. I was playing NHL10 last year and it was written in the sky that Blackhawks would win, Ladd, Versteeg, Eager, Bolland, Kopecky, Kane, Hossa, Toews, Keith, Seabrooke. Jesus. what a team. Congratulations (from Montreal)
I'm glad I was in such an enthusiastic and tension filled environment. It made the realization that much sweeter. When I watched the replay at home later it was sort of like "Wait, they won? Did they? Can we get confirmation?"
At the Cubby Bear I was afraid we were celebrating too prematurely but I went with it in case we were correct. It was a great feeling.
@Anynom indeed it took the tv announcers longer , how special to see this the first time just when you thought you saw every thing it was tension filled envirment in my home too, june 9th my voice cracked when philly tied game 6, 3-3 and my chest was heavy, thank fully my blackhawks won love it when the young man says he's been a chicago blackhawks fan since january 2010, yet he felt the stanley cup win with his emotional voice as much as myself waiting 31 years special indeed.

@nabs307
It was pretty hard to with Wirtz running the team like he did. The team was terrible, they made bad moves, and they weren't on TV.
It was pretty hard to get enthusiastic about the team.
But yeah, playoff fever spread throughout Chicago didn't it?
