During the mid 70's, when "art-rock" was at its' peak with groups like Yes and Genesis at the forefront, Supertramp came along with arguably 3 of the best LP's of the genre. "Crime Of The Century", "Crisis, What Crisis?", and "Even In The Quietest Moments" stood toe-to-toe with the best groups, eventually blowing everybody away with the Number One LP of 1979, "Breakfast In America"

My sister and I (me 13, and she 16 in 1977) would listen to this album on Sunday nights in quadrophonic sound in total darkness (apart from one "black light" with psychedelic paint posters on the wall, some of them hand-made) sitting in bean bag chairs in our brother's room. We soared very high in our imaginations, and this was our spiritual center. Epic.

He is the soul of supertramp. without him Supertramp is nothing but a soulless frankenstien's monster out to plunder good money from people who don't know any better.
