Geez talk about cheesy, IMO the music it sounds like something from and better suited in a Dynasty warriors game instead of a GT intro... ugghh its horrible. BTW i much prefer the Euro and esp the US intro (Personally whilst i prefer the remixed song of the European GT 2 intro i think the US intro as a whole is better, it flows more and doesn't feel as cold and clinical as the European intro does).

I have this game but not the US or the EUR versions I got the JAP version. I grew up with this game and the intro of Japan was so amazing since the 1998, now in 2011 I'm watching it again. I shed tears before the song started and I'm missing my PS1 and my old games alot and I compared the intro of Japan, US and Euro. But I prefer the Jap intro. The video and the music brings back the entire memory when we all played Gran Turismo 2. Gran Turismo will using the music "Moon Over the Castle".

@Kranical Sure, the song is great in the US version, but I love this one better because it starts out so relaxing and calm, almost sad, and then it just builds up for the guitar, and it's purely amazing. That's why I prefer this one over the US version. But in reality, my favorite Gran Turismo intro is the GT1 version.

Great Intro. Japanese version of the game was the hardest. Cars didn't handle as well as in other versions, especially on rally tracks. Also it was tougher to pass all licence tests, because of worse handling and... less amount of time. The easiest was the US version and the European was somewhere between.

Um, yes buddy, they know what a Ford is. In fact, in a JAPANESE video game, they included White people (showing the history of auto racing). And Japan has had a pretty long and rich race history itself, and yet you see no Japanese people in the intro at all. Only the Japanese could be so selfless in that way. These people know more about every car manufacturer than you would ever know.

well, there's nothing wrong with the US version dude, in fact the song used there was one of my top favorite driving music. my favorite game. its just that when i first saw this jap intro, i felt proud, knowing how menkind evolved its automotive history. the beginning piano part helped a lot. the US version, its good bro! xD
