It is because "American" words -and by that i mean non japanese created words- are pronounced the same in Japanese as they are in 'English', well, some words aren't, but for the most part, since I'm assuming you've never taken Japanese, that is why there are some English words in Japanese songs

This generally isn't taught in Japanese courses outside of Japan, but there are a lot of words that may sound the same but have different intonations, the word "hashi" being a very good example. Sure, Japanese doesn't compare to Chinese when it comes to intonation, but it doesn't mean Japanese is completely void of it.
