  • i had a dream as a child that on a clear summer's day there was a white church out in the middle of the country and elvis was there

  • Beautiful, unique. Elvis the only num/11111

  • why all my friends cannot understand such a great voice and they re listening to Pitbull??? What the fuck ...take me back to these years

  • @elenajournalism1991 pitbull's popularity will never be greater than elvis'

  • Beautiful, beautiful.

  • This song brigs me such peace and I feel touched by Gods heavenly Grace...mm..so calm..so..peacefull..thanks Elvis

  • Jesus is Coming Soon! Prophecies(DOT)org Learn the Story of Revelation 12, the Birth of The Manchild!

  • THIS SONG MEANS SO MUCH TO ME BECAUSE OF MY HANDSOME PRINCE JOSH.THANK YOU

  • He is singing for the Lord now.

  • Elvis' best songs (in order):

Little Sister, Marie's The Name, A Little Less Conversation, Kentucky Rain, In The Ghetto, Jailhouse Rock, That's Alright, Suspicious Minds.

  • @PhillyCopsAreCorrupt where is surrender, love me tender, always on my mind, one night????????

  • @udit15121988

Those are great songs, too. I probably left out dozens of others. Elvis was a god; you are preaching to the choir. Even though he did not write his own songs, he still chose most of them and interpreted them in his own, unique style.

  • @PhillyCopsAreCorrupt he did exactly what sinatra did, mad the songs his own

  • @elvispresley718 So true! Besides, singers rarely wrote their own songs in those days.

  • @tiborvivi True

  • Très jolie chanson et quelle douceur...TheKingForever...

  • God bless Elvis. Sang like an angel.

  • lov elvis too beautiful

  • sensual and spiritual xx

  • This is factually the highest charting Gospel song of all time. Reaching #3 on the US POP charts, not the "Gospel" charts, the POP charts! And it's a HYMNAL that came out during the Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Doors, Hendrix, etc.!!!

How is Elvis NOT the greatest Gospel artist of all time with trivia like this?

  • @elvisfan22 Because it's not what he's most remembered for he's remembered as The King of Rock n' Roll!

  • @elvisfan22 It reaced number one here in the UK... Absolutely stunning vocal by Elvis.

  • @elvisfan22 what about Put Your Hand In the Hand by Ocean? It reached #2 on the US Pop chart in 1971.

  • @elvisfan22 Because he was a rock and roll artist with gospel roots? I'm not an expert and I'm open to criticism on my theory but I believe Elvis was hailed as the "King of Rock and Roll", with such admirers as Led Zeppelin, Don McLean, etc.. I'm not surprised this song was high-soaring, or that it was gospel, but a single song doesn't make an artist. Elvis is King, baby, and I'm just trying to spread his gospel.

  • @WhiteSquall7 his voice on this song is almighty but humble not much more to say

  • A spotless--as usual--by the unforgettable Elvis. Good things don't last and he left us too soon.

  • Absolutely love this song and recall it from youth when it was a new song for Elvis. Inspiring!

  • It´s a beautifull song, and with Elvis voice it´s sound angellical, I love it, o yes I do. GOD bless Elvis for ever.

  • @mamushk9love152 This is ELVIS at his BEST , doing what he loved BEST - singing GOSPEL MUSIC. The vocal talent he displays in this is AMAZING . THANKS to JACKIE

  • Love this!

  • This performance really highlights the incredible talent that Elvis Presley had. I'm not a big fan of a lot of his music; but vocally he was always at the head of the class. Such sensitive expression, such an understanding of how to take a simple song and make it memorable.

  • This was a song that blew the Beatles and Stones away in 1965 (even though it was recorded in 1960).A gospel song! No one else should have ever recorded it after Elvis. There are some recordings that can never be topped. This is one.

  • At exactly 76 years ago (EXACLTY, he was born in 08/01/1935 at 4h35m, now: 08/01/2011 - 4h35m) a great one was born!! Elvis Aaron Presley son of Gladys Love Smith and Vernon Elvis Presley!!! Happy Birthday Elvis! 76 years of glory in our hearts!!

  • Elvis Aaron Presley's voice was given directly by God!. Listen to this music! Don't forget everybody, tomorrow is 08/01/2011. I'm already saying: Happy Birthday, Elvis!!! 76 years of glory!

  • @VeranzaTheKing Very well said! We need not fear for he will never be forgotten as he has left a legacy that will last through endless eternities. He was, and always will be in a class by himself . Anyone who attempts to compare anyone else to him is on a fools mission. He will live in hearts around the world forever!

  • amen dear elvis

  • THUMB UP, KING ELVIS, CHEEERS

  • this song is so pure,so beautiful.Merci Elvis.

  • Wonderfful !!!

    Fab.

  • EXQUISITE!!!!!

  • This is one of my all time favorite songs that Elvis recorded.

  • @2Catangel thought it was 1958 record

  • 5/5*****. ,,Indianin,,

  • another legand dead michael and elvis are both awesome and they both are gone at young ages.....they didnt deserve it

  • I Believe this song was originally recorded in very much an ink spots style by sonny till and the orioles way back in the early '50's.I Also had a version on a 45 by Little Richard from about '63ish.the Elvis version is by far the best though.thanks for the posting good to hear again.

  • This song reminds me of the day my dad passed away. I held my sister all night long and we cried in each others arms. This song takes me back to tat time. Beautiful song.

  • fantastic song,great video.

  • The only Top 10 hit he had between the winter of 63 & the summer of 69,and as stated it was recorded in 60,but not released till 65!

  • The absolute G E N I U S of Jackie61...many thanks for the "Mississippi Memories!"

    Wayne in Texas

  • You did a really wonderful job on this video...excellent! Thanks a million! Warmly, Red

  • Jackie, where do you get these wonderful pictures of Elvis? Not only is the sound very clean (even on those songs that were recorded in mono), but your videos are truly pieces of eye candy. Elvis forever!

  • It was released on Elvis-A Legendary Performer, Vol. 3, Elvis: Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits, Vol. 1; How Great Thou Art, The Top Ten Hits, Amazing Grace-His Greatest Sacred Songs, and 30 #1 Hits, which is where this version is from.

  • Written by Artie Glenn. Elvis recorded it October 31, 1960 at RCAs Nashville Studios but it remained unreleased for five years. The 1965 release reached #3 on Billboards Hot 100 chart, staying on the chart for 14 weeks. It was also number 1 on the Easy Listening Chart for 7 weeks. It was number 1 for two weeks in England. Sales exceed 1,000,000 copies. It was the A-side to I Believe in the Man in the Sky

  • This is such a very magnificent and precious song and Elvis easily has the very best renditions of it. Elvis sang this gem at only one of his concerts and that concert was the Dinner Show from August 19, 1975. That concert is available only on bootleg. I've never heard the concert version of this gospel song. Elvis had a voice like no other. No one will ever be able to sing gospel songs as well or better than Elvis did. This video was absolutely magical in every way, 10 Stars as always Jackie.
