Does anybody know how plugging it into an external monitor works? Do you like ... plug in the USB into the laptop USB port and have an extra monitor plugged into the laptop? Or does the extra monitor HAVE to have USB ports already built in for it to already work? I might get this if it can supposedly run Crysis with this.
so, will you HAVE to have an external display, or can it just run back into the screen on my laptop? this system looks amazing. id like to see crossfire abilities in the near future.
Its price is much better than the vidock 3, 4 or 4P, though since its not available yet and my laptops graphics card keeps going out on me I'll have to buy a vidock3.
@Cumf4rt I dont think you should do that cuz I heard it's coming out late this year or early january of next year, sorry but thats not really a bad of the wait from what you can get out of the graphics card thats already installed in it, the radeon 5670hd cuz it can play mw2 maxed out as crysis on high, gta 4 maxed out, burn out paradise and much more, also maybe hopes on black ops.
@donconco It's called MXM type module and mobile CPU were always changeable so long as your motherboard supports it. As far as I know... all MSI laptops support MXM. They release a new notebook every 2 weeks.
@LordAlda If only they'd actually offere MXM chips for sale. At this point, you can only pick them up used on ebay. I've actually called Alienware (before they were bought out), Dell and Gateway. None of them would sell me an MXM chip.
Only with an external display that connects to the GPU on the external body. Notebook LCDs typically don't have any sort of input from an external source.
could i runn this on a hp g70

Asking the country distributor might be the best bet to know how to get your hands on one of these, if MSI does have it out of prototype.

GUS is never going to be released! It has been months and still NOTHING!!!

Do you think this is actually going to do anything?
I want to know before I try upgrading with this...
Because if all it's going to do is connect to the notebook and actually do nothing then it's going to be pointless...

can I use the laptop monitor with GUS or only with an external screen?

@Polivacha I think it's only external screens that are supported right now:(

From what I gather, the estimate ETA to market is around September in Taiwan and later this year for the rest of the world market.

@b1566548
No,according to some "spys" from notebook forums,it stopped developing due to external screen and unstable system design.
Pretty lame answer for this interesting thing.
There are still ViDock and PE4H for external VGA card solutions.
