They definately overdub. I saw them at london a coupl of weeks ago and they were doing a DVD. They made a few mistakes even the almighty loomis. So they overdub it later i guess.. i'de much rather hear the mistaked we all make them
The only one thing I can say about this band is "They are fucking awesome". Jeff Loomis is the man! I hope this summer I could go to see them at least two dates. They will always have my support. Sound cheesy but fuck I don't care.
hes got a great live voice, th best ive ever heard, evn better than studio version, especialy th chorus, and how he has so much emotion in his vocals in th first 2 minutes.

Wow these guys actually sound awesome live, I already loved nevermore but after watching a few vids from Year of the Voyager I have a whole new level of respect for them especially Warren Dane who still sounds awesome even those he's 40.
for once I'd just like an honest live video. look at 6:57 the audio has a note being held and the image is loomis running down a scale lol. Its fcking embarassing.
the whole dvd has been EDITED. added effects such as slow motion, backwards playback etc etc. its for a cool effect. the whole dvd is very enjoyable to watch. one of the best live dvd's (from my favourite bands) i have seen so far.

And? You could clearly hear him play those notes as well. You can't blame them for wanting a shot if Warrel as well as a a shot of Jeff's run, so they compromised and used both at different times, though I will say I would've prefered a Dragonforce style split screen

Wow these guys actually sound awesome live, I already loved nevermore but after watching a few vids from Year of the Voyager I have a whole new level of respect for them especially Warren Dane who still sounds awesome even those he's 40.

for once I'd just like an honest live video. look at 6:57 the audio has a note being held and the image is loomis running down a scale lol. Its fcking embarassing.

the whole dvd has been EDITED. added effects such as slow motion, backwards playback etc etc. its for a cool effect. the whole dvd is very enjoyable to watch. one of the best live dvd's (from my favourite bands) i have seen so far.

And? You could clearly hear him play those notes as well. You can't blame them for wanting a shot if Warrel as well as a a shot of Jeff's run, so they compromised and used both at different times, though I will say I would've prefered a Dragonforce style split screen

I don't know why you insist on defending it so steadfastly when you could just agree and say "yeah that was shitty editing but they are a good band still." because it is. and they are. I'm just saying that live dvd's are normally just a music video made for a live version of a song rather than a genuine presentation of a specific live performance. Just because you like a band doesn't make everything in its name sacred dude. You must be critical of all things. Demand quality where it lacks.
