    Series/reps?

    Thank you very much!

  • @Mikikepretty Check the resources at Shop dot Stronger Team dot com - there is more to proper training than doing an 'ab exercise'!

  • Beautiful Practice Jersey!!!(blue-white logo)

  • @Mikikepretty Thanks! They aren't for sale, sorry!

  • 1:15 is that quin cook?

  • @MikeyJ956 Yes...

  • @StrongerTeamDotCom i thought he went to oak hill academy?

  • @MikeyJ956 He was at DeMatha before that...

  • @StrongerTeamDotCom what muscles do you hit with the around the head plate circuit?

  • @10031992abcd Core and shoulders....

  • what muscles do you hit with the around the head plate circuit?

  • How long do these workouts take because I have problems including various exercises in one workout? and what would rest periods be like?

  • @spiders69213 All of our workouts are about 45 minutes long... 1-2 sets of a handful of upper/lower exercises.. limited rest...

  • @firma1989utransuje A peanut butter and honey sandwich with chocolate milk is a great post workout meal!

  • Coach, I assume the team works out, 2-3 times a week. For each workout does the team do a full body workout or do they do a split routine? Thanks!

  • @mrmountaineer2 We do full body workouts every time....

  • thanks for this coach, always feel like im getting better after utilising what you show in these videos! one question, I was wondering whether or not it is better to lift before an on-court workout, or after, or does it make no difference? what is your preference? Thanks again!

  • @Cull23skicougar Thank you for your kind words of support. There is no 'right' answer, totally YOUR preference!

  • Coach, would you recommend going over 90kg on squats? I am a little bit skeptical since I have not turned 18 yet. Please note that I do not have a coach/supervisor.

By the way, I have ordered the MVP program, I will hit you back with a feedback in some 10-12 weeks! I am managing to throw it down, but I am still struggling (small hands). Thank you for sharing your hard-earned wisdom with us! Good luck!

  • @KrGaa Awesome, def keep me posted to your progress. There is no 'right' answer for the weight on squats... as everyone is different!

  • whats the best number of sets and reps to do each exercise for strength? thnx for any reply :)

  • @YiannisANO1911 These videos aren't meant to show sets/reps... just a sneak peak at the kind of stuff we do. If you want an actual program with sets/reps, please visit Shop dot Stronger Team dot com. Thanks!

  • How old are these guys?

  • @simon9767 They are all in high school...

  • hey is it better to do a lot of reps per set for strength training for basketball or low reps and heavier weights?

  • @kanfulee I would pick something in the middle... I usually work between 8-12 reps with our players.

  • @StrongerTeamDotCom is that Quinn Cook?

  • @daroyalneszNC15 Yes...

  • Whats the song name? Thats a song to workout too

  • @TheStretch32 "We Over Here Hustlin'" by Birdman and Lil Wayne

  • @TheStretch32 Over Here Hustling

  • Hey Coach! Did the guys do all of the exercises?? Isn't it a lot of exercises? Thanks..

  • @Hoopnwork Sometimes we do 1 set of a lot of exercises...

  • thats retarted working out 7 days a week, u have no time for ur muscles to recover and rebuild. i workout 3 days a week and thats the best amount of days to workout maybe 4 but 5 or more is CRAZY and no results

  • @idiforddiesel You obviously misunderstood the quote... the quote means you shouldn't let 7 days go by without getting in a strength workout. In other words.... don't let a week go by without a quality strength workout or you will be weak! We don't recommend working out 7 days per week....

  • man these guys are so lucky... we never used to lift weights when i was in highschool.. i had to figure it all out by myself

  • @hhaidar90 Yep, a lot of things have changed RE: strength & conditioning for basketball in the last 5-10 years!

  • coach, do you make your players squat?

  • @dodoStvr Yes, we squat... but we don't do barbell back squats. I have never been a fan of putting a loaded bar on the top of a player's spine! We do front squats and DB squats... and we do them from a variety of stances (normal, wide, narrow, staggered, etc.). The squat is a very important movement!

  • @StrongerTeamDotCom what about reverse lunges? Aren't they the same as back squats in the sense that they load the spine as well??

  • @StrongerTeamDotCom what about a reverse lunge? Isn't it the same as a back squat in the fact that you still load your spine??

  • @ballsislife First off, it depends on where you put the barbell. If you do choose to put it on your back/shoulders/traps... the amount of weight someone does with a reverse lunge is significantly less than they would do for a back squat.

  • When working out your guys, and you have pul-ups in the plan, do all of your guys perform this or can they choose modified rows?? Or do they do both??

  • @ballsislife Most of our guys can do pull-ups... for those that can't... they do a modified row.

  • hey coach how many exercises do u typically have your guys do in da off-season??

  • @Huupconnection 8-12 exercises per workout...

  • @StrongerTeamDotCom Do you do two sets each or many repetitions on a set

  • @kimydems24 It depends... yes... we usually do 1-2 sets per exercise.... 8-15 reps each...

  • @StrongerTeamDotCom a couple of questions... Does it matter if you do your Activer Warm-Up with your shoes off and which do you reccomend? And what should a Speed and Jumping Program consist of for a 14 year old male athlete?

  • @KENMONEYBALLER You need to be super careful with what you do barefoot... and check out Can He Dunk dot com for jumping info!

  • What about the number of sets and reps?

  • @sharroo It varies from workout to workout and exercise to exercise!

  • Can any of this exercies stunt my growth..i having hit puberty or my growth spirt?

    im 13 yrs old/8 months

  • @TheAllDayBaller No, proper age appropriate strength training (which is what this is) will NOT stunt your growth... that is a myth and is completely false.

  • from 36s-40s what muscles is that working?

  • @nycballa15 It works your low back, glutes, and hamstrings...

  • wow the way they workout looks pretty fun

  • @Dreyfus03 Yep, we workout HARD and have FUN! That is the key to success!

  • lol seven days non stop lol that bad i bet u guys tear muscle like crazy

  • @brunxelfx We don't strength train 7 days a week my man... we strength train twice a week!

  • them boyz goin to work

  • @oyekunlle Yes they are! We go hard!!!

  • STAR OF THE TEAM IS SON W/O HIS SHIRT!......WISH I HAD A CHANCE TO DO THIS STUFF...

  • @lite2k9 Yeah, that is Vic Oladipo... he will play for Indiana next year... very talented kid. You CAN do this stuff now... that's why I posted it!!

  • What's the point of the chains?

    Just curious

  • @Hoopdreams3ani To add additional resistance at the top of the movement (when the arms are extended)....

  • @StrongerTeamDotCom so whats the differance beween extra weight and chains?

  • @Hoopdreams3ani The chains add additional resistance at the top of the movement (when the arms are extended)....

  • @Hoopdreams3ani if you put extra weight on the bar then you have to lift extra weight thriught the entire moement.. but by using a chain the extra resistance is increases gradually as you push it up..

if you look closely when the athlete is at the bottom of the rep the bottom of the chain is resting on the floor and as he pushes up the chain comes of th floor (more of th chain is hangin) this creates the extra resistace at the top of the action

  • @DdotRedd @Hoopdreams3ani That is 100% correct, thanks!

  • Hey, these are some really great videos that you have uploaded over here. I just wanted to congratulate you on your success. I wanted to ask you a question, which you have responded to before. But i wanted more information, please respond. Quesion = Do you prefer for athletes to work out early morning [as you guys do at 6:30am] on an empty stomach? I know you said you should have something very light like a muffin, but is strength training bad on an empty stomach? I want your input; thank you.

  • @jigarsalman Thanks for your kind words and support. I prefer that folks have a little something in their stomach, which I know can be hard for a really early workout, to reduce the chance of feeling light headed or running out of gas mid way through the workout!

  • what are some exercises i can do to increase my upperbody strength?

  • @LoveToPlayFootball Did you watch this video?! There are plenty of upper body excises in this video as well as the DeMatha Morning Workout!

  • what has happened to 100 drills in 100 days its not in your media gallery on your website anymore??

  • @thenextprototype I had to take it down because of some technical issues... I am trying to get everything fixed now!

  • i dont know if you can answer this but: what is the average squat weight for a guard on this team?(i want to compare myself)

  • @thenextprototype Don't worry about comparing yourself to anyone else... just make sure you are progressing!

  • what are some good workouts for speed and upper body strength?

  • @MrBabyking123 I have a ton of great resources for you in my online shop. Email me for more info!

  • Thank you very much!!

  • What does the exercise where they are on their backs and extend their legs do? And also is there anu difference between those lunges on bench and regular lunges? thanks

  • @duke2be The supine bridge works their hamstrings, butt, and lower back. By elevating their hind leg they can go through a deeper range of motion....

  • Not bad for day #1 Coach Stein. Good luck in the new facility, with the new team, and as you chase a championship. Stay positive, train hard.

  • with you the stags can get another national championship

  • @BlackGuyfromOhio I hope you are right!

  • What is the difference between the DeMatha and Montrose

    program?

  • why did you choose to leave the montrose christian program?

  • @TheShootersTouch Personally and professionally I was ready for a change. You should read my newest blog for the full details... as well as for what it takes to be a Great Player.

  • Why did you decided to leave. Thats how everybody knew you as.

  • @ousseynoundy Personally and professionally I was ready for a change. You should read my newest blog for the full details... as well as for what it takes to be a Great Player.

  • what do the chain attachments do for bench

  • @osirisskater1212 The chains add additional resistance to the bottom part of the movement (where a person is stronger)... as well as an unstable resistance (the chains move slightly). It makes a "normal" exercise even more challenging!

  • looks like an awesome gym

  • @thenextprototype Yes, the new $23 million dollar facility at DeMatha is amazing! I am so thankful to have the opportunity to work there!
