Here is the problem with this: the policies the right proposes would not lead to more low-income entreprenuers. Investment in these kids, through education, urban development, community programs and the like are things Republicans denounce as Bureacracy. Its hard to run a business when you're uneducated and live in a slum. If we helped these kids live in safe, clean environments and funded their schools, they would be able to compete for jobs and start businesses.

When I quote the Constitution referring to providing security for its people, that is only pertaining to law enforcement and the military, not some beaurocratic government agency tasked with overseeing private business, that is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

I have worked from the age of 15. I have instilled in me, a solid work ethic from my father. I paid my own way through college. And got a job in my field of television production. I have been with that company for 4 years now. I have been promoted 3 times. I make 25k/yr. before taxes. I can barely survive on that. But, the large Media corporation I work for has gained in profits for the past 3 years. They, like a majority of corporations, shut the faucet off at the top.
It makes sense, encourage growth, prosperity, a real sense of entrepreneurship and see success for the future. Government should not be about a hand out, but a hand up where it is sincerely needed.

Here is the problem with this: the policies the right proposes would not lead to more low-income entreprenuers. Investment in these kids, through education, urban development, community programs and the like are things Republicans denounce as Bureacracy. Its hard to run a business when you're uneducated and live in a slum. If we helped these kids live in safe, clean environments and funded their schools, they would be able to compete for jobs and start businesses.

The Constitution holds some of the basic guidelines for security, and much of the literature leaves open potentials for many different types governing. Take a look at history, and see how many different types of governments have ran the nation. You could justify just about anything using the constitution.

Let see. If you are poor, and you work at a job making $7 an hour, you can't afford rent, food or an education. Everyone knows most businesses go under in their first year. So Newt thinks poor people, who can barely feed themselves, need to start their own business. A new business in an economy where Newt's government tips the scales toward corporations and the rich. The plethora of quick and/or relatively inexpensive food choices that are packed with fat and calories. 3. Stock, supplies, licensing, insurance...and a thousand things more need to be paid for. They can't be at a minimum wage salary. So how are the poor to start all these wealth-inducing businesses?

Actually with the start of eBay, it's cheaper than ever to start a business. You dont have to have warehouses and complicated supply chains to reach the larges global market in the world.
Even if you wanted to go the traditional rout, there are MILLIONS of dollars in SBA loans and even MILLIONS more for those who are a minority... meaning they have a better opportunity to grow a successful company. Underfunding is the number one cause of small businesses failing.

This point is well made in the movie: "The Pursuit Of Happiness", the main character is in really bad shape, so what does he do? Go on welfare? No, he takes the greatest challenge he can find and works hard, studies and succeeds in obtaining a much better life for himself and his young son. Had he taken the "easy" way and take government handouts, he would have condemned himself to lifelong poverty.

How I wish Newt were the Republican Candidate. I am reading his Book(s) and he makes more sense than ANYONE I have read so far. Sensible, logical REAL solutions to issues that face us today. What chance does a person like me have of making it? If i had to detach myself from me and pretend i'm speaking of someone else, i'd say NONE. I'll tell you what did happen to me; I continued to go to junior high school pregnant (kids making fun of me, etc.), gave birth to a beautiful girl the summer of 1997, started high school in the fall of that same year. I took my dauhgter to HS everyday thanks to a daycare within the same school. I was an ESL (English as a Second Language) student.

We have to start with the children. Mr. Faulkner said it best, It is easier to raise stong children than to repair broken men. We are in alot more trouble. Government has failed our cities. Welfare encourages men to leave the home, which has made it cool to leave. School that are completed broke are allowed to stay broken where in a free market they would be out of business, replaced with better ones. In Baltimore, MD 58million is missing from the schools and noone cares.

Social Security checks are issued to people that are "retired".

The truth is that government jobs pay in many instances better than private sector jobs. It has a really good retirement and health insurance when comparing with most private sector business. In general.

you dont get the point. maybe you never had to pay payroll and overhead. It means you dont get rich just by owning s business. You may have more personal freedom but it does not automatically equal personal wealth.
My point when receiving a steady paycheck ( from any company you work for or from any institutiion you may work for) IT IS A STEADY PAYCHECK dont be an idiot.
Then you have more choices to use that money or have extra curricular side ventures if you want.

I have worked from the age of 15. I have instilled in me, a solid work ethic from my father. I paid my own way through college. And got a job in my field of television production. I have been with that company for 4 years now. I have been promoted 3 times. I make 25k/yr. before taxes. I can barely survive on that. But, the large Media corporation I work for has gained in profits for the past 3 years. They, like a majority of corporations, shut the faucet off at the top.
