Ummm 8000RPM? My civic has that engine (d16y7) and it rev limits way before then ... I think you've hacked your rev limiter? the redline for that engine is 6800RPM and rev limits at 7200RPM, according to wikipedia.

Since I posted my last comment i've upgraded the Turbo (turbonetics 60-1),Engine Management (Emanage Ultimate), Boost controller (EVC 5) and Exhaust (straight 3" w/ cutout). Making somewhere in the ball park of 375whp. If you ever care to take your v8 that will chew me up to a real track (longer than 1/4 mile, involves actually turning the wheel) let me know.

I did that with my old 94 civic with the d15b7. honestly, I would hold it out to 8 grand before shifting. the funny thing is it never blew up or had any problems and the car could beat alot of things with just i/h/e..were talking non supercharged cobalt ss
my d16y7 has over 340,000 on it and does not smoke or miss or burn oil. I still drive it hard but mantain it well with synthetic oil etc. this is a complete waste. give the engine to a poor person and they can use it for like ten more years. 36-40 hwy mpg too.....
True that..Honda engines are tough...They are near impossible to kill...I mean it can be done but it would take a LOT of doing...I am not an import guy...I like American cars... but I am BIG fan of Honda cars and bikes. Matter of fact I am looking at buying a new Honda Accord V6..I test drove one the other day and was in love...

The EG runs 10's all motor N/A. and will out handle and get out of the corner better a lude.
My SRT-4 is Big Turbo, Meth Injection, K&N Intake, 3" Turboback Exhaust, Wideband, AFC-NEO, Front Mount, Nitrous.
It only makes 400ish on low boost w/o bottle.
