I read some good reviews about the Password Resetter software which actually works it is very simple and can save you from a lot of trouble.

very good tutorial and all but... what happens if all your accounts have passwords, and/or theres only one admin acct besides your main acct and it has a password?

@drdjr8 start up computer, hit F8 until it comes to safe mode boot screen, choose safe mode, wait for it to boot and use the hidden administrator acount there, click your user acount in the control pannel and then remove password, restart and bame, done!

@drdjr8 oh right my bad, well one option is to take out your HDD (hardrive) and place it n another computer as a slave, back up all your files, format the harddrive, insert startup disc and re-install your operating syystem then place the backed up data back onto the hard drive (if you google ghosting hard drives it might work for you and is easier) and vowla!

@TheSpoof16 (its voilà btw lol :P) i was pretty much seeing what your method would be to handle that and for most standard users that'd work unless, of course your personal files are protected, then for backup you'd be screwed. another way to do it (if you know how) is in the system root files of windows xp if you know what your looking for, you can access manually the registry entries and delete the user password entry.

(continuing) thats for more advanced users and to be honest, i wouldnt even know what to look for myself so i keep my personal files backed up at all times in case of some ignorance like that.

@drdjr8 Reg edit right? you can do that method with the harddrive as a slave and use vista to edit the registry using the programme, but then again i didn't have any hidden files on the hard drive so i don't know how it would handle that, i'm only 17 haha so my knowledge is pretty limited! above average though ;D (did it at college for an assignment)

@TheSpoof16 on xp its pretty simple to modify the root system files without using any editors, but on vista its a pain in the ass as vista protects people from accessing those files cuz microsoft figured stupid ppl would end up deleting something they shouldnt. (wich ppl do with regedit anyways), plus there are further steps you have to take on vista to get those sys files to show up. to be honest... if it came down to that, id recover what i could and wipe the hdd too much of a pain otherwise

without a pass you will have to reinstall windows and/or get a program that might solve the problem or pay a geek.
